Why do Nigeria prefer OSU to free born by her representing Nigeria. Let me remind her of her origin. The Osu caste system in Nigeria and southern Cameroon, can be traced back to an indigenous religious belief system, practiced within the Igbo nation. It is the belief of many Igbo traditionalists that the Osus are people historically owned by deities, and are therefore considered to be a 'living sacrifice', an outcaste, untouchable and sub-human (similar to the Roman practice of homo sacer). This system received literary attention when it became a key plot point in No Longer At Ease by Chinua Achebe. People regarded as modern-day Osu in Igboland are descendants of individuals who volunteered and were sacrificed to the various gods. These fore-fathers pledged themselves and their descendants to these gods. They enjoyed protection and privileges but were segregated from ordinary folks. These Osu people married, fraternized and socialized among themselves. The practice continued to this day. An ordinary Igbo person would not marry or permit any of his relations to marry an Osu person. In a few instances where that has happened, every member of that non-Osu who married an Osu became infested and were regarded as Osu. It can be said that the only aspect of Igbo life that keeps the Osu segregation intact is marriage. An Osu could and could only marry a fellow Osu, and no more. It is a taboo and abhorent for an Osu to marry a non-Osu - love or lust being immaterial.Find our more at >>. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caste_system_in_Africa and http://www.kwenu.com/igbo/igbowebpages/Igbo.dir/Culture/osu_caste_system_in_igboland.htm |

Bugs in this device. Typing: Not smart when typing at times finding it difficult to type unlike N3 and p3 the typing speed is accurate. I think that is from the sensor. Typing on this device may be waste of time. Incoming call: You can't see the line a call is coming from until you pick it. Unlike others that shows the sim a call is coming from. This is one two bugs I figured out. If you have any solution to this, kindly reply. |

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and its downstream subsidiary, the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, PPMC, yesterday, threatened to sanction marketers and other stakeholders engaged in the sale of kerosene above the approved price to Nigerians. The NNPC, in a statement signed by Mrs. Green, Acting Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, also allayed fears of alleged scarcity of kerosene in the country, saying that about 11 million litres of Dual Purpose Kerosene, DPK, were being supplied across the country daily, far above the national demand of eight million litres daily. The struggle to buy Kerosene, an household commodity for cooking, becomes more challenging even at a NNPC petrol Station in Lagos. Photo by Lamidi Bamidele Green maintained that the NNPC and the PPMC will continue to work with all stakeholders to ensure even distribution of kerosene to all nook and crannies of the country, and also advised members of the public against panic buying of the product. “We, therefore, call on all stakeholders to ensure that petroleum products including kerosene get to the general public at government approved prices as severe sanctions await any defaulter,” she said. Continuing she said: “This clarification has become necessary due to reports of scarcity of the product in some parts of the country. For the avoidance of doubt, the NNPC, through its subsidiary, the PPMC supplies between 10 and 11 million litres of kerosene daily, which is distributed through allocations to licensed marketers such as Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, (IPMAN), Depot And Petroleum Products Marketers Association, (DAPPMA), Major Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) and NNPC Retail Limited who sell to the general public through their retail outlets. “It is, therefore, a surprise to receive reports of scarcity in spite of the fact that NNPC/PPMC supply above the eight million litres national daily consumption.” Source: V A N G A U R D N G R DOT COM

ABA— The Aba Police Area Command has arrested a 40-year-old Prophet/Pastor, Benjamin Ndubuisi, for having unlawful carnal knowledge of a 23-year-old man. Investigations revealed that the prophet whose church is located at 89 Ukaegbu Road, Ogbor Hill has been involved in the unholy act with the victim since he engaged him as a worker in his church. The suspect, Benjamin Ndubuisi. Trouble started for the prophet when his victim who gave his name as Ndukwe took ill two weeks ago and worried by his continued deteriorating health condition, confessed to his family about the secret love affairs between him and the gay prophet. Residents of the area hinted that Ndubuisi, who is a prophet in one of the white garment churches in Ogbor Hill, engaged his victim as a worker in the church as a ploy to always have him around to satisfy his sexual urge. The gay prophet is alleged to have administered oath to Ndukwe to stop him from divulging the details of the love affair between them to his relatives and members of the church. Worried by the shocking revelation, Ndukwe’s parents alerted policemen leading to the arrest of the homosexual prophet. The Prosecutor, Cpl. Galadima Rubies, told the court that the accused committed the offence at Ogbor Hill in Aba on July 28. According to him, Benjamin had a carnal knowledge of a man’s son through the anus. Rubies said the offence contravened Section 214 (1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Abia 2005. When the suspect was arraigned in court, he pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N200, 000 with a surety in like sum. Magistrate K. I. Udo said the surety should be resident within the court’s jurisdiction as part of the bail conditions. The accused may be sentenced to 14 years imprisonment on conviction. The case was adjourned to September 9 for further hearing. Source
