I fail to understand how as educated people, we can advocate for anything but "just". Psqaure deserved more, plain and simply and if that was the only thing said, they have actually held a lot back. TIMAYA should have been nominated, best new act, period.

9ice was nominated in best new act (although not one) he should have won, the guy as help 9ja down since December 07 with gongo aso and actually delivered a fine album. Naeto C's album is cool, but to say he had more impact than 9ice is a joke. If he couldn't win over 9ice in best hip hop please explain how he did it in best new act??

Wind am well had no business been nominated, Shayo by Durella was easily one of the best videos in 9ja this year.

out of the videos nominated, Psqaure should have won, how did they not pick Roll it over Wind am well, bloody cheats!

Act of the year = Dbanj, how?? he drop is singles aroud April and the album in June, 9ice and Psquare held it down four months before and are still holding it down, one of them should have won, but at least this was close. Unlike bloody wind am well, how did that video make the short list, HOW

What made a mockery of the awards are many but two stand out:

1. Wind am well winning best video,  were they high This is a video that shouldn't have been nominated in the first place. This is not even the best video from his record label, so by what strech of the imagination does it end up been the best in Africa.

2. Nateo C winning best new act Over 9ice,  hmmm How?

This tires me. We live in a country that a few people mention something and instead of thinking about it we jump on the band wagon as a remedy for a lack of something to say.

Video, a medium to have a song shown on TV.

Now how you express yourself using that medium is down to the team shooting the video and no one else. what you decide to go for in terms of how the video is interpreted could be affected by time, money and how easy it is to achieve said idea, while still providing a quaility visual in terms of lights and picture quaility.

The video in question here is cool, it basically gave a face to 9ice in a non spectaculer manner, while it may lack the so call call street angle (and who says it should have it) what it does its make sure your attention wasn't away from the singer.

A gentleman can sit on a stool and sing into the camera, another can dramatise the whole song, its a choice. A video doesn't earn the right of bs solely because it does not carry the execution we expect.

The video to this song as nothing wrong with it, not a thing! The story line is actually the best of its king in 9ja now, Faze had a story line in that video with the rain which was also a nice attempt, but Banky W here smashed it, beautiful song, not that catchy, but it can sure grows on one. This story line actually is in line with the song, how many other 9ja or even flipping non 9ja vids can you say that 4. Please list.

With a Ebute Meta, so he did it, so what!!! The verse were actually heavy, maybe the vid was talking it too far, but he wanted people to see his face, and so they should.

Guys, in the sprite of what this Tread stood for in the begining, can we just keep a perspective here.

Fake artiste = Presenting something they are not, see them in big car in video and they don't have a car to call their own, Repping something that is foreign to them, no skills.

So we come to Mode 9 (whose track Green passport is just heavy, and I urge everyone to have a listen), when I say Mode needs a club banger, I am not saying he does not know what he is doing, I am suggesting in order to reach a wider audience, a song you can play in the clubs or parties will go a long way. And I pointed to the Jzay example here, All my fav Jzay tracks, I am sure a lot of people don't know them, tracks like "you must love me", "song cry", "lost one", "take over", these are not the club tracks but deeply thoughtful ones, a lot of people buy his albums based on the party jams and in the process get educated through it.

Durella switch from RnB to jagons, a comment that has no merit, Durella still sings RnB (Love queen of my zanga) and to call his other songs jagons is just retarded!!! The flow, the lyrical content, WOW!

Too Short, simply looked at his market and fine tuned his delivery for them and yes he did a good job at it.
