There's always some form of corrupt practices anywhere you found creativity and productivity in Nigeria. Can't we just be objective in our dealings for once? Everyone in a position of authority just want to devour anyone underneath them in one way or the other, abusing the privileges that comes with such positions. How did we become like this? |

kponkedenge: It's statement like this that makes them continue to cheat us.
In almost all other African countries where they operate, they run a pay-you-go sub system, except in Nigeria.
So why can't they do it here? Remember they make most of their profit in Nigeria because of population, yet we are the ones they treat the worst.
I really don't blame them, I blame our clueless National Assembly that can't even call them to order.... Once they bribe them, they keep shut.... and it's the masses that will end up suffering for it. You have said it all in the bolded. We taxed them more than other African countries. Remember most of these African countries have more stable electricity than us. This our so-called National Assembly members enjoy cable allowance. They have access to Premium bouquet for free. They are only interested in what benefits them more than what's good for the masses. |

DSTV Yanga is bae. I can't pay more than the #2565 to DSTV, it's for my family. As long as Africa Magic Yoruba and Epic are there, alongside kids channel and music, my wife and daughter are contented. I'm a football lover, but it's becoming too expensive for me. Especially when you still have to buy fuel to watch your matches.
You can hardly blame DSTV for the increment, it's not easy to keep up with business in Nigeria. And to be sincere, they still offer the best services in terms of entertainment, sports, music and all.
TSTV is welcome though, it's good for the market. But I'll stick with DSTV for now. |

Not just a freedom of propaganda and lies that's what's the USA and the UK are using Facebook for. I'm sure you are aware that they use these platforms to spy and monitor us worldwide. What would you say to this? |

abbey621: You mean on Facebook you can't express your dislike for the government? You can't express your love for money, lifestyle, food etc? Of course some things will be regulated, you can't conduct criminal activities or harrass anyone but for the most part you get more freedom than most people in China. There's limit to everything. If having such limits will improve Nigeria just like it has helped China greatly, it's welcomed. Not just a freedom of propaganda and lies that's what's the USA and the UK are using using Facebook for. I'm sure you are aware that they use these platforms to spy and monitor us worldwide. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Russian Court Bans Facebook & Instagram, Calls Them 'extremist Organisations' by yuzjet(m): 6:03pm On Mar 21, 2022 |
abbey621: More likely it will still come from the West, as countries like Russia and China are not too cool with self expression. What's the purpose of social media when you must conform to government's expectations all the time(WeChat etc)? So even if Facebook and Twitter no longer exists, to replace them with something better would require a platform of free expression. True. But even this Facebook is regulated. Not all expressions are permitted. No matter the freedom the Wests are claiming, they are also using the same platform to spread lies and propaganda. So what's the difference? |
