anyone can be BH these days...all you have to do is either shoot or blow up someone or someplace you have a beef with. The security agencies will just label it as BH and everyone goes home happy, no need for further investigations.

people make a mistake in thinking that anyone who can speak english is educated. Education is one thing, language is another thing. I have met a lot of southerners who can speak good english, and they have attended 6 yrs of primary school, 6 yrs of sec. school and 4 or 5 yrs in a university, but still illitrates!
For me, education is common sense. You have that, you are educated, if you dont, well...

oh yes, if you practice medicine in nigeria, you will see a lot of cases like this one.
A patient with type 1 diabetes will stop taking Insulin because a Pastor somewhere told them that he has prayed for them and they are cured! Funny thing is, when the symptoms re-appear, they will be running back to d Doctor...but after treatment, they will believe what another Pastor somewhere will tell them...and the circle continues.

so if boko haram attacks Lagos, and then the lagosians start killing the hausas in Lagos, you think it will make BH stop? i mean most of their bombings are in the north, and so far, majority of their victims are the hausa-fulanis. So what makes u think that just because you kill some hausas in Lagos, it will make them stop? hell, they will even use it as a reason for more attacks!

Seeing most of the inmates coming from the south of nigeria, i tried to think why? I mean the northern part of nigeria is supposed to be the most under-developed part, and yet, you never see a northerner even in a refugee camp let alone engaging in drugs or fraud abroad. why?
any ideas pls?

Nigerians dont really explore...Northerners dont know much about the south, and southerners dont know much about the North apart from what we read in the papers, which are mostly subjective! and inaccurate.
Look at it as an opportunity to see things for yourself and make up your own conclusions rather than relying on the newspapers who themselves rely on rumors or imaginations!

I grew up in maiduguri and was there when BH first started in 2002/2003, so i guess i am in a better position to comment about their activities.

For the Ignorant ones: Buhari has nothing to do with BH.
Majority of the ppl in maiduguri actually believe BH is a PDP creation, and therefore, the government is not honest about dealing with them. A friend of mine recently saw the leader of BH, Shekau in Kano, driving around! He is supposed to be the most wanted man in naija, and yet, people keep on seeing him around as if no one is after him. Contrary to what the security operatives say, he is not in hiding at all!

Buhari wont accept such a proposal, he knows the government is not honest about. Plus they wont even ask him to negotiate with BH, he will expose them.

nanos: All the good news about Nigeria are generated by southerners, mainly Igbo and Yoruba. No Northerner has generated any good new for Nigeria in the last several years
The bad news are generated by all Nigerians and in recent times more so by the Islamic north.

The reputation nigeria has abroad is that of fraudstars and drug dealers. Now tell me, which part of nigeria is more likely to be involved in such things? I mean we have read article on this very forum where nigerians were executed in Malaysia, Thailand and other countries...which region of nigeria were these guys from? and there are many more nigerians from that region on deathrow btw.

you know, Nigerian christians are one of the most devout christians i have ever met! yet, their knowledge of christianity is zero! they only know what they are taught in church on sundays, they dont make independent research on their religion. first of all, if nigeria were to break up, the new nations that will come up will be based on language and cultural similarities and not religious affiliation. Hence, southern kaduna, Jos, Benue and all the christian parts of the north will still remain with the North. Almost all of them have Hausa as their mother tongues, so how do you expect them to join yoruba or Igbo?

secondly, Nigeria will only break up if the North says so. You can say all you want about the North, but Power is still with them! All the rest of us do is talk, vent on the Internet, but the Northerners simply sit there and pretend to be dumb, controlling all of us!

dude, have you been to eastern europe? Northern europe as well, especially Sweden? Refugee camps all over the place!

most of these Asians countries give death sentence for drugs, they make it clear when they give you the visa. They make sure they stamp it on your passport sef! At this stage, there is nothing the nigerian government or anyone one else can do.
A lot of Nigerians are on death row for drug trafficking in Asian countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore etc), and most of them are Igbo, why is that?

secondly, if you happen to visit a refugee camp in Europe or elsewhere, you will almost never see a Northerner as a refugee, only southerners. My question is, if the south is more developed than the north, why do southerners leave to be refugees in another country?
