Yeah I haven’t heard of anyone who got a positive assessment of their PMP certification.

The common ones are CIMA, BCS, ACCA (and in some cases ICAN).

2loadedguy:

Many thanks, but I tried to assess my PMP certification and it wasn't considered as an additional qualification. Maybe it's perculiar to each certificate then.

If you read the cic website, it states certificates/diplomas/degrees so yes, it will serve as an additional qualification, just like ACCA, CIMA etc.

2loadedguy:

Thanks for the response, but can this BCS certification serve as additional qualification?I have other professional certifications and when I emailed IRCC they insist only pgd or masters will serve as additional qualifications to add to my score. Can u confirm if this BCS is like a pgd?

- BSc alone won't fetch you an ITA, you may need to look into certifications/degrees/diplomas/masters.

- No.

- You can google these terms for more understanding. WES/CES are bodies that evaluate your credentials, they all have their respective websites, check page 1 of this thread.

- Yes, IELTS is compulsory, that's the only way they know you can speak English and interact in Canada, it's an English proficiency test.

Try to read page 1 very well and read 1 - 100 pages of this thread as well, take your time to digest information here and on the cic website.

frankmoney:
Good day everyone like I said I'm new on this thread , I did a little bit of research on the immigration program but couldn't get good information . I wish someone can answer the following questions for me .

- What are the chances of someone with a bsc in architecture getting through in this immigration program

- Can someone without a degree but a minimum of school cert get this

- There are some terms used here which I don't really understand e.g WES , CES etc .

- Also is it a must to take the IELTS before applying or I can do that as I go on with the application .

Thanks for your time .

Your masters will give you higher points already, you won't need the BCS certificate.

Magnifico2000:

Thanks for this info. I already have my masters can I still apply for the BCS to still boost my points.

You can set up an account with wallets.ng and receive a dollar card. You'd top up the naira/USD equivalent to the card to make payments for WES.

The dollar card is free.

chidozy15:
Hello house,

Please I need some help. I've been trying to pay for the WES evaluation report for about a month now but it hasn't been going through. Tried all my cards and the others available to me, no luck.

Can anyone suggest an alternative?

I can transfer the full amount to anyone who can make the payment for me.

Thanks in advance.

PGD courses are about nine months long, you can look into the one offered by NOUN - PGD in Information Technology, admissions has started.

However, if you're looking to boost your score, you can do the BCS Ceritfication in IT, exam is in September and results are out in December.

2loadedguy:
Pls can anyone in the house advice a short pgd program in IT/project management one can do to boost his CRS.

I reserve the right to share my BCS materials, just like you rightly pointed, so remind me what the essence of your comment is again?

Josh121:

If people think of how much the spend on materials do you think anyone will share ? I am not interested in the program but you sound like the money is the only reason you will not share the materials . No doubt you have the right to share and not to share but dont be too money conscious

Yes I have signed up with them and unfortunately, I cannot share the materials for you to look through before signing up.

Everyone is paying the N150,000, it's not easy to cough out but we are.

Nonetheless, the classes are helpful and you receive a chunk load of past questions and answers.
Questions can be asked in the class, especially for people like us with no background in IT.
The handouts are typed in an explicit way as though it's a classroom training, which makes understanding easy.

Go ahead and sign up, you have a lot to catch up on.

Asa2019:

Please did you sign up with them ? Please can you share your reading materials so I can look through before signing up. I don’t have a background in IT too so I’m worried. I want to make sure it’s something i can do before I sign up . I’m hoping to sign up latest tomorrow morning, please let me know. Thank you.

Hi guys,

This is for anyone who wants to boost their score by writing the BCS Certification in IT.

I know some people are looking for more information about this but they haven't found any so I've taken it upon myself to post this here.

I spoke with their head of customer service and below is the official message from them:

Thank you for contacting Compunet Limited the approved centre for British Computer Society (BCS) in Nigeria with proven records of outstanding performance from our students.

BCS has three levels:

a. Certificate in IT
b. Diploma in IT
c. Postgraduate Diploma in IT.

Please note that the CIT level is enough to earn you additional 37 points in your CRS for the Canadian immigrants.

The exams are taken every March and September and the pass mark is 40%.
The CIT has three modules/courses which are introductory courses to Computer Science or Information Technology. With or without Computer background with all the necessary support from Compunet Limited you can acing’s the three modules. We have trained secondary schools and they passed.

For Canadian immigrants, is recognized, accepted and evaluated by WES as a One-year certificate program. Hence it can be added to whatever degree you had to claim Two or more certificate with additional 37 points.

The three courses/modules for the CIT level are:
a. Information Systems
b. Software development
c. Computer and Network Technology.

The total cost of training for the three modules/courses is #150,000.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE A VERY ROBUST ONLINE PLATFORM FOR DISTANCE LEARNING STUDENTS.

#50,000 for each of the courses. With this you will get all the recommended textbooks, past questions and answers.
Condensed training materials (video, audio etc.) for all the courses. You will be added to our WhatsApp group for each of the courses where materials are frequently dropped, questions answered and 9 hours weekly classes takes place.

Membership annual fee costs 37 pounds, then each module cost 40 pounds each.
That’s a total of 157 pounds naira equivalent of about 75k depending on the exchange rate at as when you are paying.

This is the best time to register for the training because the next exam is for September

Registration for the exam ends 25th July.
Exam is either 16th - 17th September or 17th - 18th September at British Council in Lagos, Abuja and Kano.

If you're like me with no background in IT, be sure to check their website for past questions to practice with and study hard.

Hope this helps!

Statement of result will suffice, send copy to WES via HelloFax, their fax number is on their website (and also on page 1 of this thread), your university too will send your transcripts and WES will send verification back to them.

I'd suggest you do your ECA while preparing for IELTS, you don't have to wait till it's ready before you write IELTS as there are a lot of factors to consider (such as your birthday with which you'd lose 5 points etc).

Since you're engaged and not yet married, he's not boosting your points. It's only valid when you both are married, then you can be the primary applicant. Nonetheless, he can write IELTS and have his BSc. evaluated to boost points when you eventually get married.

Try to simulate both scenarios to see the outcome of your crs score before applying.

All the best!

Herbeekeh:
Good day Elders, I'm new to this EE program and I need some answers.

1) I have my statement of result for both ND & HND,...Do I need to get the certificate before I send it to WES but I have my waec certificate. If I need to get the certificates, how do I send to WES?

2) I have nysc work experience in a school (1yr), I worked as a sales executive with an insurance coy (2yrs), A sales promoter for (6months) and a sales executive in another coy for (6months). How many years experience do I calculate everything? And which noc do I fall into?

3) Should I do result evaluation before IELTS or what do you suggest? The exam practice no be moimoi o though I plan to write late July/early August.

4) I'm 33yrs engaged to my guy 36 but we are not married. He's planning to write the exam towards the end of the year. He has bsc, and 3yrs in real estate. What do I need from him to boost our points? I want to be the primary applicant.

*ELDERS* Please help a sister...

I'm facing this dilemma as well.

I think you can proceed with WES by late November (say November 29th) so the time it will take your university and WAEC to send the transcripts, BCS result should be ready (which is in December, all things being equal).

Dinma27:

Congrats. Please I have a question. I will be writing the BCS exam by September and the result will be out by December. I would like to start this WES process so that my NECO and degree can be evaluated as I don't want any delay when I fully kick-start. Do you think its a good idea since the BCS won't be ready yet and can't be evaluated. Can WES evaluate my NECo and degree and do the BCS later?

Yes it will, there are loads of people who got PR using NYSC, just ensure the NOC falls between 0, A or B and that's all.

I taught in a school while i worked as a customer service rep. I have read up as to how to use nysc as part of job experience, just was not sure if i could use it. Will it work?

Write to them to find out first but August isn't so far away anymore.

DavidHume:
Pls I need to ask this, after picking a date on MOD for your IELTS test. Pls can you write to them to either bring the date forward or shift it backward. Thanks

I just discovered I cant be using 3month to be preparing for an exam. I am tired of subjecting myself to a six hours reading everyday. Now I dream IELTS. Its becoming alarming. Pls can I write to them to help me shift my exam to at least d end of this month. Mid August is too far. cry
