This time I decided to approach things differently. Trust me “trying to find the meaning of life in a corona” (jay Electronica) hits different these days.
Anyway it’s been a while I painted with an array of different colours...which by the way is the “fun” of painting for me.
Demand creates monotony - you just turn into a mass production machine churning out works that all look alike (colour wise)...
So yea I waited out a long time before coming back to this with a different perspective.
The “disadvantage” of this technique is that it takes time - which wouldn’t be a luxury if you had an urgent job.

Anyway it’s important to master two or more approaches I PROMISE YOU if you don’t, you will either never have the patience to go through the process of slow painting or be able to cope with the speed of urgent demands...

Anyway...

Nice one. A stitch in time saves 9. My friend reluctantly bought a plot of land after much pressure from my side last year for 15m naira in an estate in alimosho. The moment Ambode tarred their roads and lit them, looking much better than Lekki and with up to 20 hours electricity supply daily, the property jumped to 20m naira. No bare land is available there as of today. He got the one he bought from the original owner with C of O.
Please which estate is this?

It all depends on what you seek to achieve. I have friends living in Lekki and I've vowed never to join them. Not because I cant afford a befitting house in Lekki. In the estate where I live in Lagos, there's 24 hours power supply daily with perfect road network. We are served by the so-called 33 grid. People find it hard to believe when they visit that a place in Nigeria could enjoy power so constantly. Security isn't a problem and roads leading home are lit in the night.

My friends who built houses in Lekki are always on Generator. They spend hugely on water treatment. Roads are always flooded, etc. There's a comptroller of customs who wanted to live in Lekki. He moved with his family. Now he wants to come back grin traffic gets worse at peak periods in that axis. Most times I'd get to the airport much earlier than those living in Lekki. Most times, I get to VI or any part of Lagos earlier than they do. I always ask myself, what's so special about the Lekki sef? You don't want to even near that place now that rain has started.

The government of Nigeria has made city's life so difficult. Overseas, you could live anywhere and still enjoy all the benefits of life...in fact people preferred living on the outskirts where they enjoy the serenity. We have a manufacturer who cited their facility at a remote village in Germany. This is a multibillion Euro company. As remotely as they're situated, they've been able to reach the length and breadth of the world courtesy, functional rail system. From their facility, they could connect every part of Europe. From any airport, you easily reach them via train.
The day we have a functional rail system in place across Nigeria( if it would happen in my generation) , it's goodbye to lagos hectic life and I relocate to my town. From my town, I could get to the station early to catch a Lagos-bound train. 5:30pm, I don commot office to join a train that would take me back home. Do you know why life expectancy in Nigeria is so short? It's due to the hectic lifestyle of working Nigerians. We spend most of our active hours in traffic and accumulate stress in the process. The look of a 40-year old average lagosian isn't same when compared to that of his counterparts in Europe or US.
Magodo??

When Dem no dey flog pikin,if Dem dey flog pikin all these things no go dey happen.. example like homosexual, drug abuse, etc mtcheeew....
Even God said it that the Demon reside in the heart of children so u have to use cane to chase that demon away, imagine a child taking drug since 13yrs of age...
As a person that was flogged incessantly growing up. I mean EVERY SINGLE DAY, both in school and at home.... beating DOES NOT CHANGE a person...it only makes them pretend in your presence or fear you.

You should discipline your kids from an early age (not flogging) and make them know WHY they shouldn’t do somethings by SHOWING them the end product of those things.
No matter how much you talk, images do a better job of teaching children.

In adolescence children feel “hated” by parents at the slightest caution. Whatever his/her tough friends are doing as habits he/she will most likely do... they can’t talk to their parents about things because they do not have an actual relationship.
This Is reason why everybody in a family assumes all is well until something drastic happens (which they usually discover when it’s beyond repair).

If you have resolved to “beat the devil”out of your children, please also resolve to love the heaven out of them and equally reward them for good deeds as you chastise them for bad ones.
In all you do, DO NOT TALK DOWN ON YOUR KID or reaffairm pronounciations on their life because it causes low self esteem which is the Kickstarter for all other things children do as adolescents.

“We turned out fine” because our parents beat us, does not mean our parents “know” who we really are beyond what we act for them at home.
Except you aspire to have the same exact relationship your parents have with you (I want to assure you that you DON’T) unlearn the acts of parenting that have been enforced on you by your own childhood. It is not the answer to the childhood of today or tomorrow.
