Education / Take Advantage Of ASUU Strike by zeenab(f): 3:45pm On Feb 28, 2022 |
Take advantage of ASUU STRKE It is the usual ASUU strike as we all know. And this time can be a very disappointing time for almost every Nigerian students of federal and state Universities. However I am not here to complain and lament about how bad the strike is and how the time of students is being wasted and all. I am sure we all know that already and still nothing has changed. So you see. Therefore, as a student that has been affected by this #ASUU strike, please do not waste away this time of your life. School is not on session does not mean your #life should not be on session too. Find something productive to engage yourself in while waiting for the strike to get called off. Your life should not be on a PAUSE because of ASUU and federal government. Tertiary institution is just 1 aspect of life out of the so many other aspects of life. Please, make this time of your life count. List of 5 things you can engage yourself with before the strike get call off 1. Learn a new #skill Learning a skill, be it manual or digital is very important to you as a student and even as a person in general. A skill you learn during this strike can go a long way in saving you from SAPA when you resume School. PS: If you don't know the meaning of #Sapa , ask a Nigerian student 2.Improve on your knowledge by reading books The importance of reading can not be over emphasized. Reading books would increase you in knowledge, help you learn more, improve your awareness and make you versed. You can read books on whatever you find interesting to you. However, because I am obsessed with personal development I would recommend you read books on self development and growth to grow yourself and help you become a better person. 3. Start a business You that has a flair for #business. This is an opportunity you can leverage on to start that business you have wanting to start. Stop looking at all those reasons stopping you from starting. Find a way to make it work and it will. 4. Enroll for courses There are a whole lot of courses going on both online and offline, both paid and free. What's stopping you from enrolling? If you can't afford the paid ones then give a try to the free ones. You never know, what you learn now and make you earn tommorow. 5. Develop your skills Lastly, develop your skills, those skills you already have. Don't just sit at home and while away time. You are good at writing, this is a time you can develop your writing skills. You have a skill in photography, this is the to improve it. Whatever skill it is you have, and no matter how good you are at it already, there is always room for improvement. Busy yourself with YouTube videos to help you or enroll for related courses. Finally, whatever it is you choose to do, please do. Even if it's one out of the five, it's ok. Just don't waste this time of your life please. If you are confused, ask questions and I am sure you would find answers. Remember you are the future and for the future to be bright you need to equip yourself. ZAINAB ISIAKA Concerned Nigerian Student You can connect with me on Facebook here https://www.facebook.com/zainab.isiaka.5070 Feel free to add more to the list. And tell us what you have engaged in this strike |

sagieramos:I know things like this happen, I am not disputing these facts. However, coming out to say a prisoner has no right whatsoever is wrong. Prisoners have rights just that in this part of the world where we find ourselves no one gives a damn about their rights. Infact, a freeman in Nigeria still gets his right trampled on on a daily basis, talk less of a prisoner. |

Business / Re: Can You Start A Business With N50,000? Prove It! by zeenab(f): 8:34am On Oct 02, 2020 |
V7place:a. A business is an organisation/economic system where goods&services are exchanged for one another or for money. b. I intend to invest the 50k into my already existing mobile business of buying&selling of ladies wears, under wears and fashion accessories. I call it mobile because my business follows me everywhere I go, this is because I am an under graduate who schools in a state different from where I live. 48 to 49k would go directly into buying the wears while the remaining 1 or 2k would be for tfare depending on my location as at the time of the carrying out the business. No need of space c. I expect to make the money back within a month if I run within my residential area or within 2weaks if I run it from my school hostel as customer base is higher there. A little breakdown 1dozenpack of pant(s size) cost 1000, 1piece sells at 200x12=2400 That's profit of 1400 for just a pack 2 Likes |

Habinibi:Lols! mummy ke? I am just one small girl sis. I had to contribute because I have on countless times started up small businesses with way less than 50k. I remember in my first year in school I started okrika business with less than 8k. I went into an okrika market in the state where I school, I got 10 joggers at 400naira each which equals to 4k then I got ladies top 30pieces at 100naira = 3k whick amounts to 7k total. I think I spent 450 or 500 as my tfare to and fro. Ps. I stay in one of the female hostels on campus. Back to my gist, on getting to my hostel I went room by room on my floor for marketing I remember before I got to the 10th room I have sold all my joggers 7 at 800naira while 3 at 700naira and more than 10 tops can' t remember how many exactly but was selling tops at 200, 2 at 300 sometimes depending on the bargaining power of the buyer. I gained 3100 for the joggers alone that night and 1000+ for tops 3 Likes 1 Share |
Business / Re: If You Had Or Were Given #50,000, What Small Business Would You Invest It In? by zeenab(f): 12:44pm On Oct 01, 2020 |
Personally, I can start up buying and selling of alot of things with 50k. Undies is one as someone has mentioned above. Okrika business is another or even buying and selling of new clothes like ladies gowns, tops, leggings, etc depending on your hustling spirit and targetted customers. 50k can even start up selling of make up, jewelries etc. It all depends on how you want to start but personally I believe in starting small. When I say small I mean as small as possible. For me even 1k can start up something. I would have shared a bit of my personal experience but let me stop here. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Firstly, divorce is never a thing to joke or scare a spouse with. It should only be said when meant. Secondly, learning to control oneself when angry is of very great importance. Because as a husband and probably a father, your wife and kids will get definitely get you angry from time to time, but being in control and not getting all flared up is what makes you the head. However, anger management is important to a have a happy married life, irrespective of gender. 3 Likes |
