Am even thinking of getting a different inverter. The mercury inverter has no transformer in it. So am guessing it's also part of what caused damages to the batteries.

What's your say on microtek inverters? Been hearing good things about it lately.

Not bad, spectra inverter too is excellent, Esperanto with its display features wher u can see certain parameters like ba3 voltage, input voltage, load %/wattage etc

@ bolded - this may not necessarily work out so easily e.g a 1 year old 48v 500Ah battery bank made up of 24units of 2v 500Ah batteries connected in series - if one 2v battery in the bank were to go bad and you simply replace it with another new one, you may soon find more batteries in the bank going out of sync due to different capacities mixed together.

Further, I have yet to find a suitable 2v battery charger that one could attempt to use to rejuvenate a failing 2v battery standalone and sadly a balancer such as the HA02 would mostly work to keep the 2v batteries balanced only during absorb charging phase which may well be the most inefficient time to do this task.

Yea U r right, datz y I said except if all r bad, nw let's go bck to pro's, changing a 2v ba3 from a bank is far beta Dan changing a 12v ba3 from a bank.
U can find special chargers for ur 2v batteries, a client once imported one a very long tym ago, sadly I don't v d link.

Abeg is it really necessary to add a circuit breaker between a charge controller and the battery?
Charge controllers are designed to throttle the current at it's maximum rating. What's really
the function of that CB?

This one is a tough question that leaves every1 to his own opinion. Personally I don't like d idea of using breakers in btw cc n Ba3... If the breaker trips cc gets fried, and the only thing that can mk it trip is if there is short circuit on the ba3, that ll nt happen if the ba3 terminals r well covered...

But If the wrong hand go trip dt breaker n cc fry, e go pain person o, i rather leave it abeg

Someone on powerforum sa compared axpert scc with that of victron and results were similar in fact axpert may have won that battle. Some in that same forum have been using theirs for years. Well mileage may differ i am enjoying mine for some months now and my parents have been using theirs going to 3 yrs now

We v more of complaints than testimony. It's beta to use wht works for all nd not wht works for few.

Chk the charging voltage setpoints on ur inverter and cc...and confirm it corresponds to kung long.
I hv 8 pieces of kung long .not so impressed with its performance..but still working ok.
When fully charged at night i tested a 1.5hp ac for 60mins and the voltage didnt go below 50.8v

I wud suggest you install the led voltage display to each battery and observe .then load the system with a 1kw or 1.5kw load and observe the individual batt voltages again...
I suspect you may have 1 or 2 bad batts in the bank...also xchk for a loose batt connection

If i cud turn back time...i would hv gone for the quanta batts

Dt extra 5k or 10k on each quanta ll definitely worth it at d end

Braaad, Axpert inverters have a terrible charging algorithm with their inbuilt SCC and maybe killing your batteries.
If i remember correctly, mine has an Absorb time of around 10 minutes then it switches to "Float".
I had to get standalone SCCs and moved all my panels to them.

Maybe a firmware update will fix it, but i no get that kind time.
I suggest you look into the effectiveness of your unit's inbuilt solar charger.

For those that wonder y standalone setup are quite expensive dan hybrid, here is jst one of the answers.
Inverter & cc = 400k, hybrid = 280k, The white man is not stupid .

Don't know about where you are talking about but here in lagos to enter transport to work cost approximately 500 but to fuel a car I will spend 1500 a day (residents of iyanoba to orile lagos can attest to this) So tell me, if I earn 100k and spending 1500×5, you tell me how much it is, the truth should be said, for a guy at his age and status car is a luxury to him, why not he saves that money or invest and when he can earn 150 or even 200 then he is good to afford such luxury

U try sef, my minimum is 3k.. 4 plugs pple dey enjoy, dis Lagos with holdup, if car spoil nko, hubs, Shocks, steering rack, tyrod, Shaft etc

Get a rechargeable fan, not too expensive..
Get an inverter, u can add solar panels if power is poor in ur area..
