Why wouldn't a person like what another says if it's so sweet. Like Damn people followed Hitler. I know he was not a sweet talker and all, but an entire country followed him because he gave the reason that they wanted to hear.
I told one of my female friends. That all guys are sweet talkers. Some better then others. |

EmmySparky: girl u look ur age...u don't look a day older or younger...that's d candid truth in Nigeria, she looks her age but where i am, she looks 12 |
Romance › Re: I Look Younger Than My Age ??? by zeezahbee(f): 2:14am On Feb 14, 2015 |
Xiadnat: This is a topic that hits close to home, cause I experience the downside of it everyday at work.
I am in my 30s, I get carded all the time (in U.S, this means you get asked for an ID each time you purchase alcohol or go into a bar/pub. Legal age for alcohol is over 18y/o in US)
Anyway, looking 10 years younger is mostly good.
Except for when I am at work.
When I go into patients' room for the first time, or conference or meetings etc....I get the look, whoa, back up, you are my/the doctor? I am almost mistaken for the nurse especially the older "white" men.
I get the vibes: "I don't want this young tang near, what could she possibly know. Get me someone with gray hair and some wrinkles".
As soon as I start talking though, or get done talking, their jaws are on the floor, and they can't seem to mutter a word in return.
Funny thing, I do get hit on a lot as this "beautiful lovely tall dark skin female walking around in white coat and stethoscope" except when they realize I am responsible for their health.
Point being: CONFIDENCE is the key. When you are younger than you look and you're professional, if you want to be taken seriously, project confidence even if you don't feel it. If you are good at your trade, people will eventually respect you. And, your youthfulness becomes an incredible asset that is overlooked.
Go figure sha........
PS: I should also add: Most of these patients almost always request to see me again....................... My sister it sucks. it hurts. I have been embarrassed. sebi you are even tall. I am just 5ft3. when I was in Nigeria, atleast people still accord me some respect but in USA, I am reference to as ''girl''. i stood at the bus stop one morning, one guy was looking at me for more than 3mins, he took the courage and walk up to me that why am i not in school , i said which school. he said high school. i said how old do i look like, he said 15. am like am dead oo. This thing sometimes doesnt make me have courage or move around too much. it sucks , it hurts expecially in diaspora. they expect you to be fat, tall and big. it is well |

stevecrun: They are very passionate bout their pets..and i respect them for that..I was pretty scared of cats back in naija..but i got to love them here..We Nigerians attach so many spirituality on unnecessary things!! I remembered the day i landed. my host went to work and left me at home. It was night already as i peeped out to see how the environment looks like, i saw a black cat strolling by the window side. Omo i no fit sleep oo. I called my mom sharply that my village people are still after me oo. Different thought was running through my mind. if it was a white cat, it will have been better but black is taboo. when my host came back, he laughed to stupor |
