kunle4toyeyaho: 1. As a Governor,he thought out of box by granting autonomy to board of revenue and had the IGR increased geometrically. This template is now being copied across Nigeria. 2. As a Governor,he strengthened our legal system by challenging the powers of FG on various issues-e.g.fiscal federalism,if not for Tinubu, many would not know states have the powers to create LG (many judicial precedents were set through Tinubu's actions) 3. As a senator and chairman Senate committee on Public Accounts, the oversight function of his committee was acknowledged by all. In fact his colleague in the senate& late emir had to install him as Jagaban of Borgu because of his outstanding leadership quality. 4. As a Governor,he arranged professionals in various fields who prepared action document which is still being implemented by successive Governors. It touches areas like railway system, Health provision,Urban renewal etc. When you hear of Lagos master- plan, know they are referring to this document 5. As a Governor,he tamed Atlantic Ocean which ordinarily would have consumed people and properties. We know how IMB building in V. I was being disturbed by ocean surge ,until Tinubu intervened. This is leadership! 6. As opposition leader,he built a vibrant opposition to the then PDP led FG,which prevented Nigeria from one- party system, put PDP government on its toes ,thereby providing dividend of democracy to Nigerians. He has done noble, he deserves rest now. He should go home and enjoy the goodwill and homages lagosians owe him. |

APC; the Aggrieved People Congress have again annexed their destructive agenda and their privies in the Nigeria Education system, Nigeria don finish!
The very thing they are known for; DESTRUCTION and IMPOVERISHMENT OF THE MASSES have been launched on the NIGERIA EDUCATION SYSTEM. They came in in 2015 as aggrieved members of various political parties headed by 'Bola A. Tinubu and today, Nigeria is worst than it was when they came into power.
CONUA; a new APC breed in the Nigeria Education System is certainly an agent of the Destroyers, believe me. CONUA will do exactly their master's biding. NOTE: someone is in the race for the Presidency come 2023.. Divide them and Rule as you wish. that's the Agenda and that's the strategy.
Ride On! NIGERIANS 'MUST NOT' WISE UP and Defend their COUNTRY. |

Politics › Re: CCB Act That Indicts The Suspended CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen by ZESTN: 12:25pm On Feb 02, 2019 |
kahal29: Some have argued that section 3 (d) of the code of conduct bureau and Tribunal act exonerate the suspended CJN Justice Walter Onnoghen from his present trial however going by his statement to the CCB it could be clearly seen that section 6 (b) of the same act indicts him assuming without conceding that he is exonerated by section 3 of the act.
According to section 6 of the CCB ACT...
Restrictions on specified officers:
Without prejudice to the generality of section 5 of this Act, A PUBLIC OFFICER SHALL NOT
(a) Receive or be paid the emoluments of any public office at the same time as he receives or is paid the emoluments of any other public office; or
(b) Except where he is not employed on full-time basis, engage or participate in the management or running of any private business, profession or trade; but nothing in this paragraph shall prevent a public officer from engaging in farming or participating in the management or running of any farm.
http://lawnigeria.com/LawsoftheFederation/CODE-OF-CONDUCT-BUREAU-AND-TRIBUNAL-ACT.html
Now according to Justice Walter Onnoghen's response statement to the CCB he said and I quote
https://www.nairaland.com/4995693/onnoghens-response-code-conduct-bureau
Therefore, going by Justice Onnoghen own admission of engaging in other businesses such Forex trading, AGRICODE (what ever that means) and investments which is prohibited by section 6(b) of the act i think it would be easier for the camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for CCT to free Justice Onnoghen at the end of his trial.
Finally, could be the realisation of this very fact that his legion of SAN'S are now looking for a soft landing for him as reported in the Punch Newspaper of Today? Could it also be the reason why the CCT Chairman, Justice Danladi is not bothered about his earlier rulings? Dear OP when you read, read with your head on. the section 6(b) you're stressing on says; A Public Officer Shall Not "Except where he is not employed on full-time basis, Engage or Participate in the MANAGEMENT OR RUNNING of any private business, profession or trade; but nothing in this paragraph shall prevent a public officer from engaging in farming or participating in the management or running of any farm. A public officer is not denied the right to invest in a business or trade. Learn before you Lament.! |
Politics › Re: Why Is No One Blaming Buhari For The Fuel Scarcity? by ZESTN: 12:43am On Dec 24, 2017 |
Adminisher: He will win second term. He did not invent fuel scarcity. It started with IBB/Abacha and was elevated to high art during PDP.
The GEJ regime temporarily controlled it in one of the most corrupt, wholesale robbery operations the third world has ever seen and we must not have it again.
Nigeria's problems are too fundamental for 4 years to solve. The problem may even be too much capitalism and free market. People are parasitic, lazy, wicked, anxious and desperate.
Everybody looks at his personal issues, family financial problem, gets desperate and goes out to commit legal or moral crimes - fuel hoarding, kidnapping, armed robbery, prostitution, yahoo yahoo, money rituals, human trafficking.
The country needs sanity but if Buhari tries half ofbthe things he did in1984 to control it, this soft unintelligent generation will go into mass complaint.
The worst thing would be to vote someone like Atiku now. We will give Buhari till 2023. If you dontnlume this statement well you have no other choice. JESUS! How Could Someone Still Wish Nigeria a 1984 Buhari Even When The 2017 Buhari Is A Disaster? Buhari Himself Will Be Disappointed In You. U Must Be From Daura. And Ur Brain Is Certainly Located Below The Sole Of Ur Feet. WICKED PEOPLE. |

Marvin67: I've quietly followed this APC vs PDP thing, and I've come to the conclusion that people have the spirit of hate, which is caused by blinded partisanship, rather than a desire to move Nigeria forward. It is an irony that a party which excellently insulted a sitting president, and even went to the level of gathering people to pelt stones at the president cannot stand the heat of their man being insulted. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
We have to stop this idea of supporting things based on party stand. We have to insist on the rule of law. APC started the idea of insulting presidents, now it has backfired. Buhari has started the idea of disobeying court orders, watch how it would back fire
The most painful part is the part of saying PDP destroyed. Is PDP a person. PDP members many of whom are now APC members destroyed Nigeria. Most people in PDP now, were not even in PDP in those 16years. It's funny how politicians are successfully deceiving Nigerians. Thank you. I decided to calm down on how I answer to any thread. Truly, Politicians are successfully Deceiving MOST Nigerians. However, I'm glad there's a remnant. |

ziccoit: PMB promised he would build institutions and allow them to function. Sheu Garba was asked by a channel tv presenter on fuel scarcity, the man said he would advise the question was directed to NNPC that institution of government should be allowed to work.
Where am I going? NJC is an institution of government which was created , vested with enormous power and responsibilities among which is strengthen the structures and integrity of the rule of law; preserving and improving justice. Now that a judge has been found guilty and recommended for dismissal from service by NJC the rest now lie with the president and his person whether he would allow the impunity to continue or not. We have so accustomed to abuse of power and process for so long that majority find it difficult to recognize right things in our system. Right is seen as being wrong and vice vasa.
On the last note, majority of comments here where the commenters attacked the step took by the president were borne out of nothing but hatred for the occupier of seat of president. They know what is right and how things should go but will never give credit to the man for job well done. We quit respect the President`s stance on corruption but We do not and will not support his Hypocrisy and corruption antics/attributes. How could the President Nominate and worst still, confirm Amaechi who for over three years brought the Judiciary to a stand-still in Rivers State. denying people their right to justice. closing down the only hope of the common man. Even at the directives of the Former President; that the Federal High Courts in Rivers State should commence sitting. Two days after, all the Federal High Courts in Rivers State were set on Fire, one after the other, consecutively by Amaechi's executioners Today, Amaechi is being celebrated as One of Buharis "Super Ministers." No prosecution, No Order of Arrest, even the report of Amaechi's corrupt practices was rejected. All because those corrupt acts were indulged to put him (Buhari) and his cohorts on Long craved seats. My Advice: Buhari should watch his steps. he's sleeping into a dungeon. The South South Geopolitical-Political zone will bring him, his North and S/w accomplices to zero. It's a fact. |

Always Listen More to the point driven home than just concentrating on a line or two to contradict and criticize. Especially when those who know of a matter than you do speak on in that capacity.
So it wouldn't appear to be that we would ask for accountability yet become cynical about every groups' effort to task Government to deliver on their Mandates.
It's outright Foolishness for a Partisan fellow to accuse another of being tribalistic. AWAKE!! Brothers.
