Once Upon a Town is an international feature for worldwide distribution and will be shot on location in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

The Once Upon a Town screenplay was officially accepted into the ION International Film Festival in 2009 and was selected by Hollywood writer/director, Julie Dash for actor cum director Giancarlo Esposito’s ACTORS’ WORKSHOP.

Double-i Films is currently accepting application from actors/actresses wishing to audition for roles in the Once Upon a Town film. Interested actors can click on any of the roles listed below to see character details in furtherance of determining which of the listed prominent roles best suits them.

However, actors may also chose not to audition for any of the prominent roles, in which case they may click on OTHER ROLES and complete the form to audition for several other roles available.

Actors/actresses with certain experience can mail showreel of their works [contained on a DVD] to the producers at the following address: 52, Fyneface Chukwu Street, off Alcon Road, Woji, Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

A massive protest took place yesterday at the INEC office Port Harcourt over the non payment of adhoc staff for the recent general elections.
What seemed like a "Come and be Paid today" turned sour when the INEC officials insisted that the first election day would not be paid as regards to it being cancelled.

After initial ginger and gra-gra, INEC officials came out and announced to the angry crowd that the money available was not enough to pay them all.

This statement sparked up the moral of the unpaid workers, who immediately took their protest to the road in front of the INEC office.

Port Harcourt was placed under a stand-still for over two hours as a result of the road block mounted on Aba road which happens to be the city's major road.

The protest got all the attention needed, as the spot became a hot cake for news media. Local TV/Radio stations came to capture the protest. "Even Amebortalk was smartly taking pictures".

The show however, came to an end with the intervention of military personels. An indoor discussion was then conducted between the INEC officials and Commissioner of Police.

After the "Top-Men" discussion, a full payment for the adhoc staff commensed immediately. Contrary to what INEC had earlier announced to the crowd, the money suddenly became enough, reminding me of the Bible story - Five loaves and Two fishes.

Finally a statement has been made by D Banj over the rumour of him getting married to Genevieve Nnaji.
Recently at a Koko Concert in Malaysia, D Banj was engaged in an interview where he was asked "Wats up with the gist", and his reply was:

P Square was attacked and robbed in Lagos. This occured at about 6 p.m. yesterday on Third Mainland Bridge when the dread-carrying singer was on his way to Victoria Island to meet with some friends.

Paul, who was driving his new BMW X6 with customised registration number Rude Boy, had stopped to assist some victims that were involved in an accident in front of him, and as soon as he was getting back into his car to leave the scene, two gunmen approached him and demanded for all his valuables.

“I was about leaving when these two guys surfaced from nowhere and demanded for everything I had on me at gun point. They actually succeeded in taking my phones, money, jewelry and other valuables, but just as they were about collecting my car key, one woman who had noticed what was happening screamed and alerted people at the accident scene. And that was when the gunmen ran away,” Paul told P.M. NEWS this morning.

The gunmen, according to Paul, “said they were not going to beat or shoot me, but warned that I must cooperate with them. It was so funny because they said what they wanted was their own share from P Square’s ‘largesse’. But I just thank God that they didn’t hurt me.”

Few weeks back, another entertainer, Denrele Edun and his friends were attacked by robbers on their way from a musical video shooting on Victoria Island. Some of the valuables they lost to the robbers include blackberry phones, money and laptops.

Also, popular Yoruba actor, Muyiwa Ademolan was last month robbed of his Montero automobile and other valuables by armed robbers.

A few days before Muyiwa was attacked, his friend and business associate, Kazeem Afolayan, CEO of Epsalum Movies also lost his Honda Acura to armed robbers, while fast-rising Hip Hop singer, Wiz Kid, also lost his car to robbers in Lagos recently.

Police say the hair was virgin, meaning it had not been chemically treated, and will probably be sold for the production of wigs.

Inspector Jose Carlos Bezerra da Silva said Friday to Globo TV's G1 website that the woman was waiting for a bus in the central city of Goiania when the man used a knife-like weapon to cut the hair, which reached past her waist. She said she thought the man was going to steal her purse so she turned her back to him.

Silva said he'd never seen a theft like it in 20 years.
He said the 24-year-old woman reported the case to police because she is evangelical and had to explain to her pastor why her hair wasn't long anymore.

With so much joy in my belly, I rejoice with the people of Imo State for Rochas winning the Governorship election.

Don’t get me wrong, this is nothing of self-interest. I am not an indigene, neither am I a resident of Imo state. But Ohakim tormented my phone to the extent I felt he was taking it too personal.

Just in case you havent gotten my gist yet, Ohakim had this funny political strategy of sending campaign sms to people. Nice plan, but not when you receive like 10 in a day. Person like me wey bin dey wait my INEC pay alert for my phone, unto adhoc staff, come dey receive Ohakim text?

Diana Ross will get to be the new guardian to Michael Jackson's kids if Katherine Jackson is unable to care for them or dies.

This was clearly stated in Michael Jackson's will that should Katherine be incapable of tending to his kids, that his longtime friend Diana Ross was to be named their legal guardian and take custody of the kids.

Although Prince Michael I, 14, Paris, 13, and nine-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as ‘Blanket’, are now in the custody of Katherine following Michael’s death in July 2009, the 67-year-old soul singer was named in his will as a guardian and will take responsibility for them if anything happens to his mother.

Now that Bright Chimezie has decided to move with the time by aligning forces with the hip-hop generation, then, the house is in trouble. In what may turn out as the biggest collaboration in the music industry since King Sunny Ade and Onyeka Onwenu first did it in the 1980s, the Ziggima sound exponent is mixing his old wine in the new bottle of fame producer, J. Martins.

When he was asked what brought him to Lagos this time, he responded saying

I am here on the ticket of J. Martins. Before my decision to come, he had been calling and calling. I was just relaxing one day like that and a call came through. “I am J. Martins,” he said by way of introduction and added, “Dede I’d like to do a collabo with you? I asked him what he meant by that since I had never done anything like that before. He said to me, “you the older generation must do something with the new ones. You must impact your deep and creative abilities into some of us.” All in all, I’m here to honour the young man by doing something good with the very creative young man. We are collaborating in one of my old songs, which I wouldn’t want to let out of the bag yet.

As if we haven’t heard enough domestic violence stories this weekend, another WTF moment comes out of nowhere. Thirty-two year old Lucinda Kinder from Coralville, Iowa USA was arrested after police responded to a 911 call/hangup.

When police arrived at the scene, they found that Lucinda and the victim (male) had been arguing. According to police reports, Lucinda punched and scratched the victim, and then proceeded to bite his “reproductive organ” until it began to bleed. CHAIIIIIIIII!

Apparently, the two have been in an intimate relationship for a little over a year now and had been living together.

Lucinda was arrested for “domestic abuse and assault without intent causing injury.” She was being held on a $ 2,500 cash bond. Probably the lady was vexed with the man because she wasnt getting enough of his, you know na. So she went for a big bite. But lady, You cant eat your p'enis and have it back.

Despite the recent break up, D Banj has finally tied the decision with his Love.

You may have guessed it right, D Banj proposed to Genevieve yesterday on the popular TV Show Moments with Mo.

This came as a shocking news to audience and Nigerians at large, as we all thought it was all over between the Musician and the Actress.

Sources say the make-up of D Banj and Genevieve was a move by the host of the show Mo Abudu.

What seemed like an interview show for Genevieve Nnaji, turned into a surprise, as D Banj walked into the scene, went on bended knees, and pulled out a Ring from his left Jacket Pocket. All we saw was tears from the Shy-looking Genevieve Nnaji who later showed tears of joy as she hugged D Banj.

Pat Utomi, presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Mega Party (SDMP) has withdrawn from the 2011 election to be held on April 9. Utomi said in a telephone interview with BusinessDay today, that under the current system it was impossible for the opposition to defeat the incumbent, noting that it was impossible for democracy to work in a situation where state capture is complete as is the case in Nigeria at the moment.

“It is easy for a group of people, drug barons, armed robbers, etc to do anything necessary to win election. Once they get into office even if they are removed by the court after six months, they use state resources to make it impossible for opponents to defeat them,” he said.

Naija 4 Life, a popular phrase, the entertainment industry seems to be loving the name. Most Nigerian artist takes it preferable to the regular country name.

Some may wonder where the name "Naija" came out from. All I can say is that Naija is another name for Nigeria, the patriotic name for Nigerians to show their strength and smartness.

The origin of this cool name remains unknown. Though some say it was coined out from "NI-gerians don JA", based on the fact that most Nigerians runaway (JA) from the country for a better living.

This "Unproven" fact seems false considering the fact that Naija as a name sounds a lot better than Nigeria.

The Producers of the Koko Mansion reality show, HiTV, had this to say ‘HiTV family is deeply shocked on receiving the news of the death of Kokolette Chidinma. This is indeed a trying time for the nation’s entertainment industry with the death of upcoming comedian CD John just yesterday morning. We pray she rests in peace and God should grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss‘.
