Zikkie, be strong for Dad. He will get better. We need to look for another hospital to attend to him. These incessant strikes sef, our health workers and the government are very self-centred and callous. I pray the strike ends soon.

@Candygosh dear, you are not alone. Our hearts are with you. Be strong my dear. We love you....always have.....always will.

Morning family.
Thanks Obinoscopy.... I hope and pray things get better as it has been in the past few days. I can't shout!

candygosh:
Hi everyone. Hope you all had a great day?

Zikkie, im so sorry about your father. Please is there a way you can transport him to lagos. Lasuth is not on strike and I'm sure they will do something.
If you consider it, I know a matron there (family) who can help you quick speed things.

Besides when did this start? This urine retention. I hate it when people are sick it makes it cry. I will remember you tonight in my prayers. God should keep me hanging
Candygosh darling..... I honestly do hope you are fine wherever you arehuh My dad is a lot better again. I don't understand what happened that he suddenly had a relapse! He started taking that King's tonic you talked about and we also added this trevo drink (which he stopped taking at a point).. He's doing well but for the constant fatigue which is as a result of the surgery.
I pray God will give us all pleasant surprises!

Well, it's quite difficult to accept so many things in our lives because we don't always get to choose what happens to us in life. But then, we have to live on, to fight on and make sure that we make something out of what life throws at us. It is well.

All these health workers sef, dem strike pass lightening. I just don't understand this country sef. I just hope the strike doesn't take long.
Try not to be scared. It's hard, I know, but you have to summon up courage and believe that all will be well. Hope and Pray for God to take control.

I'm based in Ibadan tho.
Lol @ 'strike pass lightening'... Thanks osyxcel.... Dad is a lot better and we hope things would be calm and also pray the strike gets called off soonest.

Oh dear dear dear zikkie, please don't cry ok. Oh God please have mercy on her father, my heart is breaking here, we need strength Lord cry

As for the outing, the date is tentative, I'm sure the family can wait for everyone smiley

Can you buy a straight urine catheter set from the medical equipment store? While the hospital is shut down, you can use the set to help empty his bladder so his kidneys won't get affected due to retention

I need to speak with you, let's make that happen soon okay, please smile for now kiss
Thanks sweet 'mama'.... I'm sorry I've been away. Been down with a very terrible kind of sore throat that feels like a moderate sized pebble in my throat... Couldn't even swallow saliva! I'm much better now!
Dad says he is no longer having the retention. He is a lot better...

Good evening my sweet and wonderful family.. I hope we are all doing well? Candygosh, xcelsia, Christine, tollu, osyxel, obinoscopy, hephzi, odunharry, and the newbies (hope I didn't forget any name?).. Lol...

Okay I can't quote all posts but I hope to use this one stone to kill several birds.

Truth is, even when I come on nairaland, I get really scared and emotional opening this thread, probably I'm struggling to accept some things or whatever, but even as I have opened the thread today and I've read thrpugh , the show of love still makes tears roll down my cheeks. 2sexi's friend's case as well makes my heart beat so fast.. I just wish! I wish! I wish we never had such ailments as this *tears* it is well...... After all God says he wouldn't give us more than we can bear? #phew!

Like I told the family, we were to be at the hospital on Thursday, as we got there, the unionists were protesting and everywhere was locked! STRIKE!!!!! I wonder how long that is going to last? We ended up going back home. He told me he is having urine retention again? After the surgeryhuh Hmmm.. I'm so scared! The stress is much for him!

As for the hook-up, its a nice idea, but I plead to be excused, I'm running so many things now that I don't have a 'me' time. Shuttling to drop of my kids at school, attend to daddy (at least so my mum could get some rest) isn't as easy.

anyone in the house based in Ibadan?
HealthRe: BR€AST CANCER Amongst Nigerian Women by Zikkie(f): 10:05am On Nov 11, 2014
Hephzi dearie, I can imagine when you talk about moods... Ur bald hair and all what not. Pls be strong for us and those who love you. Try and get anything at all that helps you to stay happy darling. Im giving u a bear hug now!!!!
Yesterday was my birthday but we spent the whole day at the hospital. Dad had a serious relapse, he was half away and half alive! To eat sef, he couldn't have the strength... He is said to have anaemia and needs blood transfusion but those 'blood Bank' staff are on strike in UCH. We are giving him ugwu aggressively as he can't take milk again. We would be back there on Thursday.

I pray God would heal all who feel pains in one way or the other.

I'm so done with the Symptoms. Fatigue is constantly present but I take relief in typing or talking to anybody about anything. I can't stand 5 mins yet. I need to sit constantly.

About your old man, so sorry ehn. It must be serious taking care of him. Fear is normal so let him know it will be fine.
Chai I remembered when I was called into the doctors office. She triggered a tear oh. She just said, are u scared? B cos ur face has changed oh!
I managed to calm down and take all those stuff in my vein.

I pray for your father ehn, where ever he is right now, the greatest healer will visit him . The balm of gilead soothe his pains . The hands of God rest on him. Fear has no place in his life. And that cancer is a foreigner in his system and it will be gone in Jesus name.

Zikkie it's well with you and your pops soul.
Awww.... Amen my dear.... I can imagine how you felt then. #hugs. It is well my dear.

Hello dearie... Hope you are getting some relief from the symptoms? It will end in praise by God's grace. Keep being strong and prayerful.

Been busy taking care of popsie as hr has started vomitting and feels very cold towards evening. Got his biopsy result yesterday. It says 'adenocarcinoma of the prostate' Gleason grade 3 score 6. We are to see the doctor on monday too. I feel for him so much cos i see fear in his eyes.
It is well with all of us.
Shout out to everyone in da house!

ican2020:
Visiting the hospital to seek for medi help when one is sick is good and commendable.
Trusting in divine help, plus taken steps to remedy that sickness is great also.

But there are situations where hospitals will fail you.
This year (in LUTH) I lost an uncle who I was made to understand had diabetes.
Diabetes, Cancer, toothache are illnesses that the hospital cannot cure.

My wife had diabetes for more than solid 5 years, there is no hospital we did not visit to look for solution, including the so call herbal cures, all of then failed until we did something differently and she was cured in less than 2 weeks.
Apart from going to the hospital, we can still get cure by changing our unhealthy habits

With just simple substances, I silenced toothache for life and I have read countless of testimonies of people getting healed from cancer through alternatives sol.

So, friend, research, take advantage of what nature has offered us, stay away from harmful habits and enjoy your day
I'm interested in the 'alternatives' for cancer...pls share

FamilyRe: Wife Makes Hurtful Comments (curses?) To Me. What To Do? by Zikkie(f): 10:16am On Oct 30, 2014
2buff:
I am curious, has she always been like this?

When you were courting her, did you see anything that hinted to her being a proud disrespectful rude person?
Did you ever ALLOW her playfully disrespect you? e.g. "Shut up haha" or "I will break your head" etc etc.

All these things add up with womenfolk and before you know it, the next level is public embarrassment and beyond...
It sometimes pays to be a no nonsense man and go to certain depths to put an unruly woman in her place.

Train her well, and she will think twice before treating you how you don't want to be treated.
Being a 'no-no sense' man doesnt work for every woman! You study the woman you have to know how to treat her! Some women would even get more stubborn with a 'no-nonsense' man's attitude.
