EDGEof2MORO: whats funny is that jews are killing christians in west bank. Pedophile jews destroyed the oldest christian village in west bank (jesus stayed in that village).
Whats even funnier, jews claim they are peaceful but hamas and islam are the problem. Then why attack christians? No hamas in west bank. No islam just jews being jews.
if nigerian christians even bothered to read their bible, something i doubt any of them even do, they will see that it was even the jews that killed their jesus christ. yet go through all the posts on nairaland supporting genocidal Israel and the fingers behind it belongs to a nigerian christian. We are talking Nigeria. Do we have Jews killing Christians in Nigeria? |

Tallesty1:
"I was in church sometime ago for the youth all-night program. It was a program where youth could discuss literally anything with pastors. You could ask any question, and the pastor or anyone else who knew the answer would answer you.
So, someone asked if people who committed suicide would make it to heaven, and almost everyone said NO.
Then I asked if Samson is in or going to hell, and the answer was NO. Seeing the confusion on my face, someone asked me if Samson committed suicide, and I said yes, which became a problem.
I told them that Samson knew he was going to die. In fact, he said, 'Let me perish with my enemies' before pulling down the building that killed him. They said I was wrong because his intention wasn't suicidal. I got even more confused and asked if taking one's life isn't suicide if the intention was noble. More confusion arose, but many people shared it.
To cause more confusion, I switched to Pidgin English. The pastor objected, saying that some things are simpler when explained in Pidgin English, and I reminded him how he had used the King James Version many times because the English adds more power to the prayer point.
He won though.
I asked the first apostle, 'What is suicide?. I want straight answers with no buts, if you have something to add you can do it later '
He replied, 'It's when a person kills himself.'
I said, 'Good, did Samson kill himself by pulling down the building or not?'
'He killed himself,' he replied.
'If an electrician doesn't wear gloves while working with electricity, isn't he trying to get himself electrocuted?' I asked.
'Yes, he is.' he responded.
'If the electric shock kills him, isn't it him killing himself?'
'Yes, he killed himself.'
'Then why do we call it an accident instead of suicide?'
' '
'Exactly.'
I told them that if suicide victims are going to hell, then a lot of Nigerians will be there because many who died from accident or the other were actually suicide victims. An electrician working without safety gear is suicidal, a driver speeding on a bad road is suicidal, a bike rider using one hand at high speed is suicidal, using a faulty car instead of fixing it is like wanting to kill yourself. If you have diabetes but eat anything that comes your way, it's the same thing. If your spouse consistently abuses you physically, knowing it could kill you, and you stay, it's the same thing, etc.
Don't tell me I was wrong; I know I wasn't completely correct, but my points presented a strong argument, and I enjoyed it. You should have seen their faces when I said that suicide was a brave act nah that one force them to collect their mike. Your argument is no argument at all. Samson died in the line of duty. If there’s any other way he could achieve his purpose (killing his enemies), without getting himself killed, he would’ve taken it. Samson was out for revenge, not suicide but then, he knew there’s no escaping death, he himself being blind, hence his utterances. He was still gonna die in the hands of his enemies anyway even if he didn’t pull down the pillar, so as a soldier he probably thought to himself, “why not make the most out of the situation?” |

HappyPagan: Christianity is a religion. Culture is a pattern/way of life.
If your religion has somehow deleted your culture, if a foreign religion has infused it's practices into you such that you do not even remember your tribe or are quite confused about your identity, I can only feel sorry, very sorry, for you. Feel very sorry for yourself bro., I need not your pity. Whatever you believe is your culture today was nonexistent at some point in time. Culture is not dormant. It’s dynamic. Whatever pattern of life a people chooses to adopt and practice over time becomes their culture. Take it or leave it. |

You are just a wicked person. My dear, Christianity is a pattern/way of life, not just a religion. Religious people live by traditions of their religion, doctrines and dogma. Christians on the other hand live by the word of God in the Bible and the voice of God through a prophet who has received the grace and power to say what God is saying in a particular situation. A Christian can fall sick but cannot be conquered by sickness. |

hopefulLandlord: So you're making assumptions that those that died didn't believe and are just religious Christians then concluding based on that assumption? I am not making assumptions, I am stating the fact. It’s one thing to say that Jesus can heal a disease and another to believe that you can actually be healed of same disease by Jesus. Just as many on this platform don’t believe that Jesus can heal this woman of cancer, many in the churches don’t equally believe. While some believe the era has passed, others believe that supernatural healings are just Bible stories. Do you even know what it actually means to believe that you can be healed of cancer by mere words of the mouth when the hospitals fail? My dear, many Christians are just comfortable with going to church for service and returning. Anything other than that, their faith will fail immediately. Three things can make a Christian die in a particular sickness; doubt, not having the right prophet and disobedience to the words of a prophet. Of the three, doubt kills the most. |

I do not advise restitution most times because; 1. What if the sin committed cannot be restituted for? 2. What if the offended is not ready and/or willing to forgive even after restitution? 3. Even if the offended forgives, what of the law? Restitution can only work where genuine Christianity rules... |

David lived in an era when there was no grace and salvation for sinners. Mary the adulterer, Zacheus and the thief on the cross never suffered for their sins to mention but a few. Ken4Christ: I won't subscribe to your opinions as not even any of the Apostles were addressed as lords.
Jesus has the right to be ascribed titles without limit because he is deity and he is worthy. lol, and I’ve been wasting my time arguing with you? It’s obvious you don’t even know the origin, meaning and use cases of the word you’re dragging with me. Jesus deserves it because he’s a deity? Is it gods/deities that are addressed as lord or humans? Was Jesus addressed as Lord because he’s a deity or because he’s human and considered the master of those who addressed him as such? Which deity is addressed as Lord? Moreover, there’s no way anyone could’ve called any of the apostles Lord during biblical times because both the apostles and the disciples were still one congregation under one direct leader or master Jesus whom they rightly addressed as “our Lord”, and even when they started splitting into churches, there’s no biblical record of any of the apostles being addressed by their followers for you to jump into the conclusion that they were not called lords. |

Ken4Christ: So, your class teacher is your lord in class?
Show me one scripture any of the Apostles was addressed as Lord. If it was not done by those in the early church, why are we doing it?
Will the Bishop lose his respect if you address simply as Bishop or Pastor?
Our Lord Jesus taught us not to be title conscious or act like boss over those we are leading.
Very soon, we will start addressing people as my god. After all, the scripture says we are gods. How does it sound to you? Jesus taught us not to be title conscious, not that we should not address people by their title. If it were to be so, then why are we still addressing him as our Lord? Is that one not a title? You should have been addressing him simply as Jesus to kill your title consciousness. You are simply misinterpreting the scriptures bro. Jesus that I know has the longest list of titles in the entire world than anyone else yet he never rebuked nor chastised anyone for addressing him by any of his titles. By that Bible passage, he’s simply saying we should not have our minds set on our titles such that we allow pride take over us, not that we shouldn’t take up titles or address people by their titles. Even the word ‘apostle’ is a title. Do not allow ignorance to have the better part of you. As for your question above, the answer is yes. As long as I remain in his class, as long as he can command me and I will obey, as long as I will do his will and bidding in that same class as against mine, he is my lord. All who you passed under in life at one time or the other lorded over you whether you acknowledge it or not. They are not your saviour but your lords? Yes they were! |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Right To Address Bishops As Lords? by zimbolaa(m): 9:49pm On Sep 12, 2022 |
Ken4Christ: The other lords are lords in the secular world. He is the Supreme Lord over all lords.
It is just the same was the scripture says that Jesus is the head of all principalities and powers. Who are the principalities and powers? They are evil powers that we contend with. No bro. Anybody in a position of power or authority is a Lord, be it in Christendom or in the secular world and it's not out of place to address such a person as one. So, give people the respect due them and stop being rude trying to hide your pride under the garb of, "Jesus/the Bible said". The world knows how to respect and appreciate its own but those who call themselves children of God don't even know how to address those higher than them properly, one of the reasons Jesus said that, "the children of the world are wiser than the children of the kingdom". This your reasoning is just like saying you won't call your father "Father" because Jesus said somewhere in the Bible that we should not call anyone father but God. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Right To Address Bishops As Lords? by zimbolaa(m): 12:17am On Sep 12, 2022 |
Ken4Christ: We can't change what happens in the secular world. But we can certainly insist that things are done right in the church.
Even our Lord Jesus said that leaders in the world loves titles and love to act like boss. He said it should not be so with us. The Bible says that Jesus is the Lord of lords. If He is the Lord of lords, who are these other 'lords'? |
