CoCoLav: @nomad26, please share with us why your ices took 4 months.
I wouldn't be surprised if the processing time increases due to the manner in which we have been encouraging people to go with ICES. Their volume of work may have increased without necessarily increasing the number of evaluators. Please let's make an informed decision. You can send them an email and stylishly ask them the same question, they won't even know when they have answered you. Here's what I did for my husband's evaluation, a week after etx (we used etx ng) updated that his transcript has been sent, I sent ICES this mail: Dear Team, My name is....... Ref no: ICES BCIT Please i would like to verify if you have received my documents for evaluation. They responded that they have and gave their usual reply of 12 weeks.... Two weeks after, I sent them another email: Please kindly confirm that my transcript from the school below was sent from an email that is acceptable by ICES. (I quoted the degree). I need this confirmation as I made payment on the school's portal for it to be sent and want to be sure it was properly sent as I do not want any delays in the timeframe for my evaluation to be out. (Now I remember, I sent the above email to ICES after I read @nomad26 story). @nomad26, Thanks for sharing. and they replied: We pleased to advise your report is in the final stages of completion and expect it to be mailed sometime next week. Once it is ready to be couriered you will receive a tracking number in your e-mail –please also check your junk mail. They respond to mails.... you can give this a trial. I did same for my WES. |

Writing was upgraded from 6.5 to 7 and speaking from 7.5 to 8.5. In fact, I didn't want to remark speaking, it was COPR that suggested that I do it just to increase the chances of getting my money back. Thanks man!
Wow.... congratulations...fly into the pool sharp sharp. |

Happy new year to you all.
Please i have a big challenge. My husband's passport has the wrong date of birth. Trying to change it has been so difficult, some people have even advised we proceed with it like that but the challenge here is, the date on it is different fro the one on our wedding certificate.
I am the PA though, i do not know if anyone has a reliable link to change data on passport or if there is a way to change our wedding certificate Send a PM. |

adeleks: Was there a change of status on the web page or you just got the report when the evaluation was done? I'm trying to monitor mine and I can't see any update. Its been 5weeks already. The online application will allow you to check the status of your application by indicating: * Incomplete * Submitted * Received * Complete No further details about the status of the evaluation will be available. You can also reach them via email. They will reply your mails. |

overcomers001: Thank you for your response. I got my response from the link. The body said the evaluation takes an average of 12 weeks from the day all the documents are received, also minus the mailing period. Please pardon my skepticism, can anyone recommend this ICES from experience? I'm getting a bit skeptical with this duration of response. Thanks. Hubby used ICES. Evaluation took 4weeks from the time they received his transcript. Took 2 weeks to get the hardcopy due to unforeseen delays. |

etrange: Dear House,
Please, is there a specific format for Proof of Fund? This GTBank customer care guy seems not to fully understand what my friend is explaining to him. Is Proof of Fund letter different from Bank Statement? Does it also contain transactions like bank statement? If not, how would CIC see the monthly salary entries in it?
Please, help a brother.
Regards. Yes proof of funds letter is a bit different from bank statement. It contains date your account was opened, total monthly inflow and outflow and also there is a part to indicate whether you are indebted or not to the bank. I think you would need to draft a letter to request for it from the bank. Just read more about it on "All about Proof of funds" link on page 1. All the best. |

thebosstrevor: As i said earlier, the reality is not many will be given visas to leave , if not given visas after wasting cash so what next for them?
get depressed or face the reality of building their country. This will not change the fact that they have chosen their path as you have yours. I drop my pen..... |
Travel › Re: Why Do Nigerians Think That They Can Only Make It Abroad? by Zinggi(f): 6:00pm On Dec 16, 2018 |
thebosstrevor: the fact is this Many skillful Nigerians that traveled abroad ended up not prasticing their field, only a few do=loss of skills many dont return How are they making way for unemployed youth, for an unemployed youth to get to a position of a professional, it takes years. all man cant think the same, but all man must build his own country, if he wants respect. only black people are not doing it china is getting great because of her skillful ones are coming back to china to teach others. Nice thoughts you have here...so please go ahead and make Nigeria great in your own way...the fact that people are leaving does not stop those remaining from making it great. This above is the reality. |
Travel › Re: Why Do Nigerians Think That They Can Only Make It Abroad? by Zinggi(f): 4:48pm On Dec 16, 2018 |
thebosstrevor: i think you missed the point of my question. I was asking why nigerians think they can only make it abroad abroad.
So if you have millions of youths thinking like that it means they wont build their country thus thinking abroad is the only way. What if there dreams are not realised, what next? I got you quite right but we all seem to forget that the birth rate in Nigeria is quite high so even with the number of people moving abroad, Nigeria still hasn't lost much (yes, skilled hands you may say but remember, they are making way for the unemployed youth left behind to fill in the gap and acquire same skill and if a self employed personnel leaves for a better quality of life for his kids, he paves way for another to see the vision in what he left behind and make it thrive). A number of people who left Nigeria will also return, maybe when their Visa's expire or when they see a need in the country which they can apply their skills to. So let those who choose to remain in Nigeria do their best in their own little way to make their little corner work and resemble the Nigeria they all want it to be and let those who choose to travel make the best use of it doing legal jobs, thus erasing the bad image some people overseas have of Nigeria. All fingers are not equal, all man must not think the same way. A quick look at the comments in this thread will let you know we still have people who do not wish to travel but want to make it here, so let them focus on that and not be bothered about who leaves or not. |

thebosstrevor: i didnt come here to bash people but to ask questions. Since you callf me an hypocrite, i been abroad many times after i finish what i came to do i packed my load and move back home and i dont regret it. My idea of life is that i can make it in nigeria. I believe in people doing what works for them....like you said "i been abroad many times after i finish what i came to do i packed my load and move back home and i dont regret it." ... so leave us if we decide to also go there many times and return when we finish what we went there to do just like you did. |
