The order of the federal high court on it own is even juvenile. The FHC did not say election should not hold but says police should not provide security and INEC should not release voters' register to RSIEC.
Now, see the juvenile in the order. You didn't say election should not hold but still went ahead to tell an institution to provide security for the election you didn't stop not to provide security, which is its statutory duty. The judge certificate need to be seized from him asap.
Again, it was even wrong for him to entertain any suit as regard the local government election because the highest court of the land had given express judgement to all states to conduct election within three months of their judgement. Why would any lower court feign ignorance of such judgement of the supreme court. He should have blatantly rejected the suit for an order to wanting to jeopardise the conduct of the local government election as there is a superior order of the highest court of the land. He should have told them, he cannot give such order until they place unnotice those that will be affected by the order. That would have shown he is following the rule and he knows what he is doing.

Let me first ask you a very serious question. Can the order of any lower court overrides the judgement of the supreme court of the land? I hope you're aware that the supreme court in her judgement in a case filed by the Attorney General of the Federation on behalf of the federal government against all the state governors ordered that all states with no known elected officials at the local government level should do so within three months of their judgement.
Now, if you're a governor and you have handy these two orders, which one would you obey?
Meanwhile, your complain of giving three months notice before the conduct of the election. I remember that the announcement were widely made over three months ago that there will be conduct of local government election on 5th October, 2024. Well, may be they were expecting to be written to individually. I don't think the law stipulates that.
Finally, no court of the land can render the conduct of today's election nullity as all of them must comply with supreme court judgement. All they need doing is to tender the judgement of the supreme court to them at the court and let us see any judge that will say their order supersedes the judgement of the honourable justices of the supreme court. Lobatan!

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has cautioned River State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, from making “unfounded allegations” against him.

Daily Trust had reported how Fubara accused Egbetokun of working with his opponents, vowing to hold him accountable if there is break down of law and order in the state.

Fubara made the allegation after intervening in an incident at the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) office on Friday morning.

According to the governor, he prevented an alleged attempt by the police to remove materials meant for the upcoming local government elections.

Egbetokun, while reacting in a statement on Friday night by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said it was shocking to see Fubara storm the RSIEC office.
