It's not just mere projections. The CBN has said several times that several trillions of naira are missing from circulation. That's a huge sum. Also, the CBN has access to data that you and I don't have so they must have solid reasons for saying people are stacking money to buy votes. They'll get the naira notes to buy votes, that's for sure, but not in the quantity that they would need to make a big impact in the elections

It's not. A certain presidential candidate was exposed to have stashed billions of naira to buy votes and that must not be allowed to happen.

Oil producing doesn't make much of a difference if you take away subsidy. There is a cost to finding oil, developing, producing and refining it. If you are an oil producing country the only benefit is you avoid shipping costs.

But funny enough, because of high cost of production here, it could be cheaper to buy crude from Russia right now, compared to refining locally produced crude.

But artisinal refiners are refining the same crude without spending billions. The funny thing is that a lot of petrol stations are buying from these artisinal refiners
