Russia would not risk a direct confrontation with the US just as US wouldn't risk direct confrontation with Russia. They both know the outcome of such a war would be nuclear and this could lead to the end of the world as we know it. This is the reason why US is fighting a proxy war against Russia with Ukraine as the battleground. If Russia takes Biden out, the response of the US would be to launch nukes at Russia and even if they hit Russian cities first, Russia's dead-hand system will automatically launch nukes at major cities of the US. Everybody dies.

This war has been going on for 1 year, Ukraine has been receiving weapons and mercenaries from more than 15 countries while Russia has received a few drones from less than 3 countries but Russia has still been fighting and gaining ground. I guess you think Russia is out to destroy Ukraine like US did to Libya. Iraq etc. No, a totally destroyed Ukraine will be a burden to Russia; there'll be a total breakdown of law and order in Ukraine which will affect areas of Russia bordering Ukraine, all those refugees etc. Russia simply wants to deplete Ukraine's army and, at the rate they're going they're doing a damn good job at that.
