^^^ You both should act more mature. Your back and forth is uncalled for on a thread like this. |
Genius100:He is Yoruba. BTW, only a Yoruba person, within the Nigerian context, can do what he is doing. . . . I was born in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria in a small village called “Kiribo” in Ese-Odo local government area of Ondo State. I come from a small Yoruba –speaking tribe known as “Ijaw-Apoi” (Ijaw-Apoi- because the Ijaws claim their territory or nation starts from there!). My father was a local teacher and my mum a full-time, never- retiring housewife. I come from a polygamous family, I have lots of brothers and sisters, 16 of us, - don’t ask me if I remember all their names |
^^^^ So Sowore is not Yoruba? What is he? |
Abagworo:Its the Yoruba factor What can we not do? ![]() |
http://odili.net/news/source/2011/apr/29/315.html Lagos recovers N20bn from tax defaulters News Friday, April 29, 2011 By Monsur Olowoopejo LAGOS -THE Lagos State Government, yesterday, said that it was able to rake in over N20 billion through tax audit exercise in 2010, adding that it was also able to increase the number of companies remitting tax to its coffers from 17,491 in 2009 to 18,148 in the year under review This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Taxation and Revenue, Mr. Ade Ipaye, during the 2011 ministerial press briefing to commemorate the fourth year in office of Governor Babatunde Fashola. Ipaye said, "the fund recovered has provided the state with the opportunity to be less reliant on the allocation from the Federation Account. It also provided the state government with the needed funds to implement developmental projects across the state." The Special Adviser added that the state government through its Internal Revenue Service, LIRS, recognised four individuals and six corporate bodies for distinguishing themselves in tax compliance. According to him, the N20 billion that was raised by the LIRS was due to the LIRS redefined civil and globally approved strategies adopted to bring more taxable firms and individuals into the state's tax net. "The year in review has been interesting one as the Lagos state government continued in its efforts to increase the revenue without imposing a harsh burden on individual and corporate tax_payers. This we have done by further improving the efficiency of our collection processes and extending the tax net so as to bring in more people who should be paying but were not." Ipaye also stated that the state government in 2010 recognized in a special way four individuals and six corporate bodies for their exemplary tax compliance. |
Musician wins Anambra assembly seat Emmanuel Obe, Awka A popular musician and actor, Tony Muonagor, popularly known as Tony One Week, has won the House of Assembly election for Idemili North constituency in Anambra State. Muonagor, who contested on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, was the only candidate of the party declared winner in the election which held on Tuesday. Results from six other constituencies were declared inconclusive. They were results from Idemili South, Aguata I, Onitsha South I, Awka South I, Nnewi South II and Ogbaru II. No date has been announced for the rerun in areas where elections were inconclusive. Meanwhile, the ACN House of Assembly candidate for Awka South II, Mr. Kenechukwu Chukwuemeka, has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to declare the result of the constituency. Chukwuemeka said that since the suspension of the announcement of the result was predicated on a petition written by the candidate of the Congress for Democratic Change, it was imperative that the result be declared now that the CDC candidate had withdrawn her petition |
afam4eva:You are a reeeetard! Why would anyone do that, the bolded I mean? We, Yorubas, dont have that sort of mentality. We dont go about thinking the rest of the world is out to get us. Your entire post reeks of stupidity and low IQ. perhaps you need to take a break from NL, a yoruba website/forum full of Yorubas that are so hateful of Ibos. |
60 million naira times 1000 cars that's 60 BILLION NAIRA all on imported bullet proof cars. imagine what 60 billion naira could do for the country? who are these nigerian elites? still doesn't sound right. there are quite a few countries in south america. poster is just trying to exaggerate Nigeria's position. it's understandable but still fallacious.
You obviously dont know shyyt about Nigeria. Now go suck your Nigeria BF dyyck, lets hope that his c/u/m would give you the necessary ingredient to help you grow some badly needed brain-cells Anuofia. |
I'm sure they go there for economic/financial reasons. igbos like to do business and yorubas are mostly civil servants.
You keep spewing trash out of your slutty arse. And, I will continue to call you out on it. You are extremely misinformed about Nigeria. Just STFU already, and talk about what you know, and leave Nigeria and her complicated demographics and structure to those who know what they are talking about. Nigeria is not NL. There is more to Nigeria than what you read her. Eediot. |
So much persecution against Ndigbos. I am really sorry for everything. What a lovely lady! I am beginning to believe that there is a systemic, covert war against Ndigbo. Or why would an ethnic group, out of 250, bear most of the brunt of the post election violence? On behalf of my Hausa, Yoruba, Edo, Tiv, Jukun, Igbirra, Nupe, Fulani brothers and sisters, I humbly tender an unreserved apology to our Igbo brothers. Since we the bad guys of Nigeria, who unfairly target the great Ndigbo, have apologized for our barbaric acts, can we now move past it and move forward? |
Very typical of Ibos Fake drug, fake PHD/Nobel, Fake MEND, Fake Kidnappers, Fake Nollywood, Fake Dollars, Fake Visa, Fake clothes, and now, I present to you the newest 'Fake' product in the arsenal of 'Fakes' originating from Ndigbo, FAKE Rescue. Coming soon: Fake roads, fake schools, fake Governors, and insha Allahu, Fake Ibos. ![]() |
Jakumo:Aare Musiwa is probably going to need more than 2 mins. What shall we do if Aare Musiwa did not 'jagamu' in 2 mins and Tpia, pressed for time, decided to call it a day ? Dont you think a post-'jigijigi' 'jagamu-less' Alaafin of Canada would be more dangerous than what we have presently? |
Ibo people and their senselessness Why cant she borrow a leaf from someone like Akala who accepted his defeat with grace. Ibo people; SMH. |
^^^ You are being sarcastic, right? |
yemmight:Using state funds, without being accountable to anyone. You have no qualms with that? What were her personal accomplishments before becoming the First Lady of the richest state in the federation? Not only is she not-suitable for the post, she is bereft of ideas on how to move the state forward. And, if imposed on Lagosians, she would leave Alausa worse off than she met it, because she is a thief, a quiet thief though. Eni ti'ako ko, lo ma gbe ile ti ako ta? Remi Tunubu is bad for Lagos State under any capacity. Call a spade a spade my friend. |
Eko Ile:^^^ What has Remi achieved personally, besides being the wife of Emperor Bola Ahmed Tinubu from Iragbiji Osun-State? |
gregg2:Remi Tinubu is a Xtian, doofus |
Gbawe:You are a not-so-smart person. I dont care if you go to Oxford or DORFXO, you are a reeetard. You are actually comparing Remi Tinubu to Hillary clinton and Bhutto? It is not the same thing. How ever you want to slice it, Clinton and Bhutto deserve everything they got. They worked hard for it, and did not get there by imposition Lucky you, I have not time for you this morning, I for don go ask my babalawo to do "arinlo" for you. |
Eko Ile:May thunder strike your keyboard. Akabueze ko, ekubuaza ni. e no go better for you and akabueze together. |
Katsumoto:I agree. The state governments must do the followingWhat do you have in mind? Should it be increased on a sliding scale? You cant raise tax on lower class and middle class citizens without providing some sort of safety net, that is guaranteed, when they fall on hard times. This is not about infrastructures alone or education. It is about gaining the trust of the people and providing social security for them when they can no longer provide for themselves. So raising tax on everyone might backfire, even though the intention might be good. 3. Introduce an entertainment tax. If people are going to spend huge amounts of money on frivolous things and parties, then they must pay a tax on goods and services associated with throwing huge parties and weddings. If this is how you will sell it to the people, trust me you wont make any headway. Calling 'owambe' parties, frivolous is insulting, demeaning and culturally insensitive. What else do you want to tax? Baby showers? office send-offs? Graduation ceremonies? Emotional euphoria? can you be more specific? |
Kobojunkie with Tpiah as running mate? Someone say Halleluya ![]() |
ola olabiy:That was my point exactly! |
ola olabiy:Then it is not an option because, TBH, it aint happening, atleast not anytime soon. |
Alright, fine. If the FG doesn't want to relinquish control of the roads, why not build new toll roads? For example, a toll road from Ibadan to Lagos? Land use act allows the state governments to acquire land for this purpose for free, yes? So at least in theory, we could do a feasibility study and see if it is possible. Thoughts?
Thats an interstate road. Who is going to assume primary responsibility? |
naijababe:I doubt there would be much success in that regards. Remember that ACN is still a minority party, and you can only do so much when you dont have the numbers. |
