WORD!
I couldn't agree more

Is rape even a crime in Nigeria?
They'll simply ask the woman why and how she brought this evil upon herself and the case is closed

nwando,

Rape is crime in Nigeria. Also, I'm very aware of the ineffectiveness of the Nigerian judicial process and the ineptitude of the law enforcement agents.

However, the main thrust of this thread is to state clearly that US soldiers have been involved in raping Iraqi women, just like they've done in Okinawa, Japan.

@RichyBlack,

How do we make progress when some, blinded by insane loyalty to America, will not admit that such a crime is evil, even after the US military courts have sentenced the perpetrators to jail?
I thinkyou are mixing up issues here. No one here has praised the US soldiers for the heinous crime of rape. the praise went to the US for at least throwing the books at the perpetrators.

This topic started with an accusation of rape at US soldiers while a purpoted picture is attached as proof. Some have said this picture is from a movies scene (and I tend to agree) and not real. Are we then to accuse the US or its soldiers for something that they have not done? Should we start cursing them based on phoney pictures and false accusations? That is the isue here. If you stand by the truth, then you need also to desire to get to the root of this allegation and rightly condemn or validate its claim. That is the issue here.

As for the rape of the teenager by the Soldiers, it is highly inexcusable and i'm glad the perpetrators are being brought to book and I'm sure dishonorably discharged from the Armed Forces.

no one doubts you.
The major green story and several others were all over CNN.
No one here is gloryfying rapists.

My brother Richyblack the 2 individuals I would love to see castrated in a market square are Rapists and molesters of children.

I don't know anyone in their right minds that'll condone it.
I man and others did not condone it,they only pointed out that hollandis was deceptive.
At least America punishes rapists what is Nigeria and Darfur doing?

Do you know Uday and Quasay, the sons of Saddam had several women chained to their bed posts as sex slaves and such practices are common amongst the royal Saudi families.
How about 6 and 9 year olds married off to 50 year old men because some "prophet" said it was best for a girl to have her first menses in her husbands house?

America is no heaven and they do punish crimes against women, the rest of the world ought to follow suite

True talk. America is trying no doubt, especially on domestic issues. However, her foreign policy is very naive. 15 Saudis were involved in the 911 hijack but they lied against Saddam and executed him. They give the evil House of Saud access to billions of dollars worth of military hardware, even though (as you pointed out) they represent the antithesis of human rights.

America is wonderful, for those living in it.

nwando my sister, go through my posts, I never acknowledged those pictures, I assure you that I'm sophisticated enough to know that that picture is more likely a mock up.

I got irritated when someone started asking questions like "What is the name of the soldiers accused of rape?". In effect doubting the possibility that US soldiers can indulge in such a dastardly act.

What has this lazy attempt at another US bash fest got to do with the topic?

15 Saudis were involved in the 911 hijack but it is clear they were not doing so in the name of the Saudi government. On the other hand Saddam is known to be an active sponsor of terror activities and openly renumerates families of suicide bombers.

babasin, I though I already answered you. They killed her, burnt her corpse and massacred her entire family, except for two who were in school when the attack happened.

How can they compensate a dead girl? Come to think of it, it's possible - name a street after her, give her a posthumous award, etc., but highly unlikely.

Your tune would have been way different had it been 15 Iranians!

America always tries to link the unlinkable when ever they're trying to implicate a nation that is not part of their puppet group of nations.

When it comes to remunerating families of suicide bombers, go do your research - Saudi Arabia is the biggest remunerator.

I am still waiting @Hollandais

Here are some questions for the poster,

1) Could you please provide a better picture of the so called Iraqi Woman raped by the so-called US soldiers I mean that picture could be that of two gay men trying to rape each other with a black cloth inbetween them.

2) If this is a real accusation you should at least be able to supply us with the names of the soldiers in those pictures ??

3) Posting more Porn related sites as proof is not going to help your claim since there have been so many porn movies of this sort made in that past how many years alone, There was even a Broadway musical made about women in burkas and what not. Why not provide more details to this claim of yours?? Or is this just your way of getting attention

4) I am guessing you think people are stupid enough to believe anything to post as fact , huh

5) How does your claim stand that this site was closed cause it was an insult to america yet Youtube has not been closed down with all the pictures of abu ghraib and what not that have caused america the worst shame?? Are you sure you are not at this point complicating things for self??

You hold data to how the US have dealt with their own citizens caught in the act of rape. Yet your own country wallows in its own shame of women being raped by even mad men on the streets in Nigeria and nothing is done about it.

A Head of State and a general in the Army of the Nation died in the bossoms of two international prostitutes. Whether he was raping them, or they were raping him, no one knows. undecided grin

and do you see anyone celebrating their sexual prowess?
The rapists are prosecuted and punished according to the law.

@ Richyblack, you readily produced news reports of Americans prosecuted by Americans for crimes against defenceless Iraqis . . . care to show us reports of your own country and even the Iraqis doing the same?

Last i checked the Saudis were busy putting rape victims behind bars ditto for Iran.

nwando you're making my point - America is good (not perfect) if you're living in it.

True, American post-secondary education is very good and many want to go there for studies. Wages in US companies are also quite good, and many want to go there for the economic benefits.

However, that doesn't take away from the fact that their current foreign policy is ludicrous. Particularly, the Iraq quagmire. This may be foreign policy blunder of all time. Now every American is singing "Change". Hopefully, America will be blessed with a Democratic president come 2008, that will return some of its lost glory.

don't mind them.
A young man was recently paroled the other day,his crime was sleeping with a 16 year old girl while he was 18.
The girl and her family even pleaded on his behalf because it was consensual but the law prevailed,it was sex with an underaged girl, statutory rape and he went to prison.

Do some reading and get a visa out of Cameroon.
Not all states have the death penalty and while the law is not perfect,it works!
where is yours?

Go to Northern Nigeria and see little girls leaking urine and faeces, thrown by the wayside by the 50 year olds that married and impregnated their tender bodies.

You are grotesquely stupid grin Keep crying to Seun grin

Given the apparent crassness of the posts your are peddling, you have inevitably turned a thread about sexual abuse into another hare-brained rant about US foreign policy.Complete plonker.

The irony that the links you were posting were about US soldiers being prosecuted for their misdeeds was lost on you in your blinding prejudice.Coming from a country were rapes are rampant and conducted with impunity. From Russia in Chechnya to Sudan in Darfur, none of these countries have mounted a single prosecution of their soldiers for similar acts.

You are welcome to indulge your obssesive compulsive rants against the US but don't hijack the thorny issue of sexual abuse.Idiot! grin
