A CRACK has appeared on the political wall of the north, as former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alhaji Mohammed Gambo Jimeta, on Friday took Northern Elders Forum (NEF) to the cleaners, accusing them of contributing to the country’s woes.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Jimeta, who was minister for Agriculture during the late Gen. Sani Abacha’s regime, said the forum chose to play the ostrich instead of facing the reality.

He also accused the group of sowing seeds of enmity and discord in the country.

“It is disappointing to note that other Nigerians, who should have been steering the course of nation building, decided to pull those pillars down by sowing the seeds of enmity, divisionism and political hypocrisy to distract Nigerians from the truth.

“Rather than rolling up their sleeves to actively find solutions to the suffering of Nigerians, they chose to pull us back again and force us to play the blame game,” he said.

Jimeta alleged that some of those in the forum blaming President Goodluck Jonathan for not performing contributed to the downfall of the country.

Nigeria is too big to be called a country. The problem with Nigeria as a country is just too much ranging from insecurity, religious crisis, ethnicity etc. Nigeria should just break and let us answer our papa name. Awolowo in 1945 has described the amalgamation of southern and northern protectorate into Nigeria as a contradiction, joining two different protectorates without anything in common. I pity Nigeria if we dont brake up. Long live Biafran, Long live Afenifere Republic, Long live Arewa republic. There is unity in diversity, we can always still unite as different countries that will have its own president, system of government etc

Tell me the politician that is not an hypocrite. D nature of today's politics is that u lie to people and rig the vote, and u are declared the winner by the election commission. The corrupt judges at the election petition tribunals will then confirm ur "victory" by declaring that d election was in substantial compliance with the electoral law. Next, d religious figures will pray over the "well-deserved victory". This is the charade will call democracy.
