Billyonaire: Come back, PHCN has been privatized and vsat is faster.I feel you bro, but: 1. Who bought the PHCN? 2. Does the PHCN service start showing sign of improvement after Berth Nnaji resignation? 3. I spend more than a year here in Malaysia without experiencing a BLINK of light for a single second (i.e. constant power supply) Nevertheless, I am almost done with my studies and I will be back to Nigeria cos I have no other country rather than Nigeria. |

There is no fast internet in Naija, because the people are OK with slow internet. I have 12Mbps at home, & now in Naija I am stuck with 256Kbps. I can't even watch Youtube without extreme lag, yet we pay 21,000 naira =$133 a month. For $133 a month, I'll get 150Mbps/65 Mbps from Verizon http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2405227,00.asp, and still have $38 dollars left, which is enough to drink 9 beers at the bar. We are tolerating the mobile companies. They are killing us with price and refusing to invest |

I still think people uploading pictures should state what plan they'r subscribed to. For instance, someone subscribed to 512/256mb would also feel his connection is inadequate when there are other higher plans. No doubt tho, prices are over the roof. |

Sometimes your upload and download speed will mean nothing if your ping rate isn't low. To me, ping is evertything. The lower the ping, the faster the speed. Ping is the amount of time it takes for packets to round-trip from destination to source. Upload and download just shows how much packet can be sent at the same time. PING is king... 1 Like |

Spectranet is a big disaster waiting to happen. they keep selling when they know they do not have the expertise and resources to accommodate their customer base. and besides, there is nothing 4G about swift's 4G broadband. the max you get on spectranet is 200KByte/s 4G starts from 100Mbit/sec, thats 12.5MByte/s how can swift come out openly and tag 0.2MByte/s as 12.5MByte/sec it means the guys at NCC are not doing their jobs or without ICT background. 1 Like |

internet speed is really poor in Nigeria, but what can we do? we manage what we have, and to make it worst internet subscription is even more expensive here in naija than developed countries where speed is maximum. But people like me will always have a way out, i enjoy unlimited internet here in naija with just N2,500 monthly, By subscribing to MTN BIS for N1,500 monthly and then 1k for a vpn software, with this combination i get unlimited internet monthly, download everything i see on the web and enjoy internet with ease, wanna know how i do this check my site on my signature below or mail me
