Its amazingly strange to me the bond between fathers and daughters.... Now my question is this..... Is there a psychological explanation for this? |

I think it's just out of the need to protect her. I've tried to decipher the rationale, but can't seem to pinpoint it.the bond between me and my daughter is so massive, it sometimes kinda put a strain between me and her mum. |

Yay!! I love this thread. I can't explain it either, I love my mum but there's just this understanding, care, vulnerability, love between my Dad and I. LoL, it makes my mum so darn jealous |
Re: Fathers-daughters Bond by OmoAlata1(f): 1:25pm On Jul 28, 2013 |
I am a daddy's girl. I love both my parents a lot but I am very crazy about my dad. He always confide in me about a lot of things before he tells my mum. In fact, I am the one who share a lot of those stuff with her. My mum gets jealous sometimes cos he tells me stuff that she should have known and I can understand where she is coming from. |

It is Natural. In most cases the bond is there to fill the vacuum the wife left or is leaving open. |

lilmax: There is always hope. I think a man feels sons should learn to be strong and even look after the females. Father feels the need to also directly protect females. You cherish "something" under your protection. |

Daughters are special. Mummies just don't notice because they are always trying to mould their daughters in their own image. BTW, not all men like daughters. I have heard of someone who divorced his wife because she gave birth to 3 daughters. 4 Likes |

I've noticed this psychology too. First born girl children are usually unusually emotionally bonded to their dads. Freudian psychology calls it electra complex. For this reason, i often fantasize having a girl as my first child & so shall it be. 4 Likes |

I also have a high affinity to my first daughter like kilode... Sometimes sef, my wife gets jealous and would be like, 'haba daddy and daughter, kilode. Is she your only child?' 1 Like |

In truth I can't explain it, most of the problems I had with my ex emanated from the bond I had with my daughter. But I couldn't help it, she was always receptive to my gestures, always giving me those reliving smiles, not subject to inexplicable mood swings. Her mum got jealous and would abandon us sometimes, but we had all we needed going for us Jor. Don't know if the feeling would have been different with a male child though. 1 Like |

Don't know much about father-daughter bond cos I'm not a dad yet. But I know its very strong considering the fact that I wish for a girl-child as my first and I already love her. 2 Likes |

These complexes are new to me. Growing up, four kinds of kids were the favorites irrespective of gender: 1. The first born 2. The last born 3. The only boy/girl 4. Best behavior/similar behaviour to liking parents. Just a question: Does the father/mother like all the daughters/sons or do they pick one? 2 Likes |
