There are up to 5 bedrooms and other connected luxuries in this plan. Very big, I am standing on top of the building with a hammer doing roofing wood work right now

First we had to go and buy some more iron ropes for tying the wall plates to the top of the blocks. The one we tied before might not be very adequate.

The roof wood work is in progress here.

Did u say the king post is 18ft (i.e about 5.5m)? Isnt that extremely too high? Relative to the height of the Bungalow, the roof height u quoted sounded inappropriate. Please what is the justification?

Thank you. It is high, but when you put other things into consideration like the size and width of the external walls, first from each other and then from the central king post then you will see its very appropriate.
A low roof height in this house will pose a lot of problems, first the house will have a flat look on the roof, taking away the beauty of the parapet, water needs to run off the roofs fast and the more vertical a roof seems, the better. Another problem that will arise as a result of a lower roof is the valleys (the gutter in local parlance) There are 11 valleys around this house, curves, recesses and projections everywhere. Without a high kingpost, all those things will get muddled up and look like a work by an amature.

Btw. I have seen roofs of smaller houses go up to 21-22 ft.
