Lagos has very limited land space the few available land space ought to be optimally utilised in the most economical way a sea port and a refinery which is better or even a high speed rail link which could have benefitted the state better and help it play its role as a commerical capital. Lagos state needs to hire a specialist from the world bank on development economics at most just copy hong kong or singapore verbatim and stop accusing your haters when you goof

Where's the goof? Even the existing ports in Lagos are stretched. If the Lekki port is an economic gaffe, then the Onitsha jetty is a colossal waste which was built to politically assuage the Igbos. I consider the Nigerian coastline large enough to build ports that can support the whole of West Africa and we should have considered connecting the ports to the hinterland cites and towns via trains. Still doesn't mean that those who wish me dead wont die before IJN

They are Myopic free loaders,I would only take them seriously if they take back Kwara state from Fulani settlers and develop it as they fondly claim

Onitsh port just like lokoja , baro port was designed for inland water way transportation of goods from onitsha to the north via lokoja and vice versa to reduce to load on roads and develop inland maritime economy.
Ibaka was conceived purely to be a maritme Hub and it is the deepest sea port in Nigeria that would accomodate the biggest vessels which would enable importers in Aba , onitsha , PH , calabar e.t.c to import goods reducing importation cost using smaller vessels , leverage on very low warehousing cost in akwaibom and very cheap cost of transportation in the east to reduce total cost of business

Real-Mccoy:

How would a sane person hate your region when the Maritime Port belongs to the federal government? IS Nigerian custom that oversees goods that come through Tin Can and Apapa Ports a Yoruba entity? Do you know that 98 percent of Imported goods that comes through those Ports are owned by Multinationals and non yorubas? Why are you settlers claiming Lagos when you never contributed to her development? I would applaud you if you can spend such energy in arguing about how far your people have gone in taking over Kwara state, a known Yoruba state from Hausa settlers. Till then grab a bowl of hot d.i.ck and shove it inside your throat, lazy bone.

Who do you think is benefiting via taxes and license fees from all the allied business and commercial activities servicing these ports?

dumb ibo logic as usual.
