And how will that reduce the number of people kicking the bucket

And how will that reduce the number of coffins in production

I need to become an adviser to some of these governors who have lost touch with the suffering masses.

gramci: Ondo State Government said onTuesday that necessary arrangements had been made to promulgate a law banning the sale of coffins near hospitals.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, stated this in Akure during the inauguration of a programme tagged, ‘Working Together for Health’.
The programme was aimed at coordinating activities of health workers to ensure maximum service delivery at the state hospital and all the state’s health institutions.
Adeyanju said, “Government was greatly disturbed by the advertisement of death accessories to those who need encouragement to survive.
“The activities of shroud and coffin sellers within the vicinity of the state Specialists Hospitalsin Akure and other health facilities across the state are worrisome”
“The activities of these merchants of accessories of death is already constituting a nuisance within our hospital environment.
“It is highly disturbing to see advertisements of coffins at our hospital gates.
“What message are the promoters of these businesses sending to the sick who should be in the right frame of mind to receive treatment.
“You should not be seen promoting death where we are encouraging and sustaining life.”
The commissioner said a bill seeking to ban the sales of these items would soon be sent to the House of Assembly for passage.

Nice move. Good health/recovery from illness has both physical & psychological aspects. Sale of coffins around hospitals is not good for the psychology of both patients & their caregivers.

Coffins should be sold around cemeteries instead.

I don't think you read the article well. Well, the reason is that it goes against d interest of hospital & its patients. The hospital has interest in sustaining life, while the conffin seller thrive on death, its called conflict of interest and could have severe consequences on the moral of the patient or the functioning of the health institution

A patient condition has a better chance of improving if he or she is in good state of mind, this is a move in a right direction.
