Ondo State Government said onTuesday that necessary arrangements had been made to promulgate a law banning the sale of coffins near hospitals. The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, stated this in Akure during the inauguration of a programme tagged, ‘Working Together for Health’. The programme was aimed at coordinating activities of health workers to ensure maximum service delivery at the state hospital and all the state’s health institutions. Adeyanju said, “Government was greatly disturbed by the advertisement of death accessories to those who need encouragement to survive. “The activities of shroud and coffin sellers within the vicinity of the state Specialists Hospitalsin Akure and other health facilities across the state are worrisome” “The activities of these merchants of accessories of death is already constituting a nuisance within our hospital environment. “It is highly disturbing to see advertisements of coffins at our hospital gates. “What message are the promoters of these businesses sending to the sick who should be in the right frame of mind to receive treatment. “You should not be seen promoting death where we are encouraging and sustaining life.” The commissioner said a bill seeking to ban the sales of these items would soon be sent to the House of Assembly for passage. http://www.punchng.com/news/ondo-plans-banning-sale-of-coffins-near-hospitals/ 5 Likes |

And how does selling coffin near hospitals help to aid death, may be d commissioner have forgotten that "what will be will be". So whether d coffin seller are near or far, those who will die will still die, and those who will not, will not, no matter how close the coffin sellers are. |

YOU GUYS DONT UNDERSTAND THE REALITY ON GROUND. WETHER PEOPLE WILL DIE OR NOT. HOW CAN YOU BE PASTING POSTERS OF COFFINS HERE AND THERE WETIN THE HOSPITAL PREMISES. POSTER OF GOOD HEALTH AND WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT ARE MEANT TO BE THERE NOT COFFINS. IS LIKE A DOCTOR TELLING HIS PATIENT THAT THIS YOUR SICKNESS WILL KILL YOU O. EVEN IF IT HAS JUST KILLED SOMEBODY IT IS UNETHICAL TO DISCOURAGE YOUR PATIENTS. I SUPPORT THE INITIATIVES. WE SHALL NOT DIE YOUNG BUT TO LEAVE TO DECLARE THE GLORY OF THE LORD. IN JESUS NAME. AMEN WE SUPPOSE TO SEE POSTERS LIKE THIS: 13 Likes

Hhhhmmmm, encouraging and sustaining life, my foot: Sustainig life, when d roads have already become death traps all ove d places, no law to address that. Sustaining life when children are hawking on d main road, in order not to die of hunger, no law to ban that and proffer solution. Sustaing life, when many pple are dying of hunger, no law to look into that. Sustainig life, when there is no gainful employment for graduate youths, some are even thinking of committing suicide, when life is no longer bearable for them, no law to look into that. Misplaced priority, they want to ban coffin sellers around hospitals, but they are not loking into why pple are dying,,,,,,shameless set of peple. 1 Like |

what is this display of awkward/futile mentality by semi-educated swayers in authority? banning okada to curb crime put red sticker on your rear bumper banning tinted glass to identify thieves banning coffin sale near hospital to sustain life ...etc.... I wonder if people think with their anus SMH! |
Re: Ondo To Ban Sale Of Coffins Near Hospitals by MCDumexx: 12:06pm On Dec 19, 2012 |
Hahaha;Dhhahahahahhaahh . What is with these Government with banning? I wonder if some of them don't know simple Economic-Business Principle. To start up a biz, one of the criteria is you need to have a ready market and very close to resources. The sale of coffins even give potential users to point out the one they want b4 the unthinkable happens. It can even serve as a point of reminder for those who are yet to write a "WILL" to do so. Also to those who leave reckless lives to meet God b4 they kick Gee Pee Tank I think there should be a re-think of the proposed banning action |
