Obiagu1:

Stop using the site as a source. I can put my own meaning on that same site, you know that.

Put what meaning? I gave you the only translation on the internet for 'Chidebelu' and it was 'God willed it' the same as 'Chidelu', if you don't want to accept it then fine, don't start talking about putting meanings into anything.

Obiagu1:

If you didn't grow up in Igboland, listen to others and stop arguing and confusing other people.

All your translations are wrong, so why should I listen? You talked about most of the translations I made being wrong, yet you could only point one out, what sense does that make?
Re: Igbo Names & Their Meanings by ezeagu(m): 11:16pm On Dec 03, 2010
Obiagu1:

You can only be an expert in Ngwa but when it comes to central Igbo, listen to others because sometimes it is irritating. Chidozie is my cousins name and a very common name for that matter, I grew up in Enugu, I know central Igbo very well, studied Igbo in school. The only dialect that I find hard is Ikwerre because one can barely find them in Enugu so the way they express certain things is not familiar with many except for southern Igbos.

Enugu is the melting pot of all Igbo clans.

Anyway, peace.

'Ngwa' is closer to 'central Igbo' than any other dialect spoken in or around Enugu. The people of Enugu do not speak central Igbo as a majority, they use the well known 'Enugu' dialect that is almost as far from central Igbo as Ikwerre is. 'Debe' as 'to keep' or whatever is not central Igbo, which shows that some of these translations are wrong in the eyes of those who don't even know central Igbo. 'To keep' in central Igbo is 'dose'.

Me I want get belle o
Re: Igbo Names & Their Meanings by oweniwe(m): 9:35am On Jan 26, 2011
You wan get belle or you need to get belle? There's a big difference btw wants and needs. You may want to get belle today but tomorrow you may not want again  sad
And its not good to get belle 'alone' coz its very frustrating   embarassed   its imperative that you hav a understanding 'belle donor' who will stand by you when belle de "panel beat" you for head and comfort you thru all the mood swings. . .
My best word for you dearie, is- don't rush life, take life cooly and everything will turn out fine. . . including your belle. . . wink

But i'm already in Nigeria

That 'let me borrow them' line is for countries without regular kidnappers. grin
Re: Igbo Names & Their Meanings by Odunnu: 8:30pm On Jan 26, 2011
Kidnapping ceased the moment Osisikankwu died. No?
Re: Igbo Names & Their Meanings by ezeagu(m): 11:04pm On Jan 26, 2011
It wasn't only his men that were organising kidnappings, anyway kidnapping didn't start recently. But just be careful with borrowing. cheesy
