A new baby has been born into the Nigerian media
industry. And according to information available to
us, the medium which has been positioned to shake
the industry has been christened, ‘Nigeria Today’.
Investigations conducted by our reporters have
however revealed the identity of the person behind
the daily national paper. The most powerful woman
in the cabinet of President Goodluck Jonathan, the
Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Allison Madueke, we can confirm is the promoter of the newspaper.

Sources close to the influential woman told
www.Informationnaija.com that she fell for the idea of setting up her own newspaper because of the barrages of attacks she had been receiving since she joined government.

”Diezani was made to believe that the opposition
controls the media in the country and there is
nothing she would do in the government that the
opposition will not pull down through the media. And because she has the money to throw around, she decided to jump into the media business,” our source said.

The source further revealed that an operational office has been provided at Ikeja GRA, Lagos for the smooth take off of the paper which will hit the news stand in a matter of weeks.
Top journalists from established newspapers are now being wooed with juicy packages to join the new paper. Our source revealed that the Petroleum
Minister has set aside over a billion naira for the
project. ”State of the art equipment have been
imported into the country and i can tell you that
Nigeria Today will be the paper to beat,” the source
added.

Meanwhile our source in the Presidency told us that
President Goodluck Jonathan is aware of the
newspaper and has given his blessings.
