Recent ms word software(2010 or later) will convert from word to pdf; after editing d document just "save as"> under the "save as type" column you'll change it to pdf format.
Hope u get my explanation?

If you are doing a physical submission, I personally will not do anything less than an executive looking A4 paper size envelope because I will not fold my CV AT ALL. Have you ever gotten a letter through UPS or DHL before? Do you see how clean the envelope, address and packaging looks?

Package your application as if you are sending it to the president of the United States of America. Even if it cost you 1,000 naira to get the right clean, white envelope, professionally addressed (dont ever write your address with pencil, marker, biro or pen, make sure you address is printed)(just saying), make sure your application APPEARS PROFESSIONAL, CLEAN, PRESENTABLE and JOB - LANDING.

All the best

Yes if it suits the current job you are applying to. If you had volunteer jobs, vacation jobs while in school, include them only if it will give you an edge.

White envelope I assume is the type used for regular mails and offering. Do not ever use that for your CV. Don't.
Get these brown ones that you may just fold your cv once. Its handy and corporate too.
Your CV and Application letter must be clipped together and the same envelope used. The application letter introduces you and your cv in your absence.
Best of luck

Re: Ideas for Cover Letter & CV Writing by nenergy(m): 5:04pm On Mar 26, 2013
Always send your CV as an attachment (word Doc,PDF as instructed) unless instructed otherwise. Type your cover letter on MS Word, them copy and paste on the email message field for better alignment. Use appropriate heading. E.g Re: Graduate Trainee 2013.
Always send a cover letter, helps you stand out. And about the waiting period? This is Nigeria, "waiting" is part of the game. But ensure to follow the recruitment process and progress via job forums like my trusty nairaland. Good luck!

Re: Ideas for Cover Letter & CV Writing by Jesuspikin87(m): 5:57pm On Mar 26, 2013
globechamp: Good job @assalaamat and @adewasco

just to add a few cents

If it is possible and if permitted, it is preferable that you save your cv in pdf format. The reason why sometimes candidates dont get a response is that, your well prepared cv could appear messed up on the other side because of Microsoft office compatibility, fonts etc (some PCs dont have the font used for the cv and so will either distort the cv or wont open at all). While I agree that the standard presentation of a cv should be in Arial or Times New Roman, sometimes, some other fonts make could make your cv appear better and cleaner. That was when I changed my approach. When I used pdf, the CV will appear EXACTLY to the recruiter the way I prepared it.

Secondly, since last year, I have decided that my cv will never exceed 1 page. It took me weeks to summarize everything about myself to be able to fit into a single page. There are too many cvs to peruse, so what are the chances that the recruiter will scroll down. I decided to help them simplify their jobs. However, your 1 page CV MUST be ON POINT - neatly laid out, not cramped, and must give a concise summary of you background and your experience. Remember whatever you write must be relevant to the NEED of the recruiter.

What I shared above actually did improve the responses I have gotten since I decided to.
Remember, finding a job is a job in itself.

Let me stop here for now.

All the best guys

I'm totally not aware of these points.....Thanks a lot bro.
Please....Send me a Sample of 1page CV. Ovi_angelee@yahoo.com
Thanks in advance.
