Acidosis: Are you a gospel singer, a chorister, a vocalist, a music director? Do you play Drums-sets (acoustic, electric), Keyboard, Bass guitar, Lead guitar, Trumpet, Saxophone, Violin, Flute, Conga, Tambourine et cetera.. ??

Here is a thread for ALL to meet, chat, share idea, contacts, invites and above all, a platform for self development for all and a learning arena for interested persons.

If you have any idea or new material/ manuscript/rudiments for singing and/or ebooks on a particular instrument, pictures and videos, please bring them along to show us.

Oh sorry guys, lemme quickly introduce myself grin
I'm acidosis, I love God & I'll spend my life working for him cool

okay. I see. The part that caught my attention was ur love and passion for God. Is it still there?
I sing. I play a little keyboard, violin and flute. Started guitar but didn't pull thru though it remains my most admired instrument

Wow! The passion has grown dramatically, ma'am! While I'm struggling and striving daily towards perfection in a world filled with temptation, I can say my life over the past 1 year has not remained the same. ...recorded testimonies, got my first encounter with the Holy Spirit (The experience is still fresh in my memory. I'd share it some day).
Above all, I am still in Christ - My Rock and salvation, where my help comes from.

I'm glad we have women who love Christ on this forum; it is a confirmation of the events at the tomb of Christ!
Do you play these instruments at home/church?

Wow! Do u know this hymn? Faith of our fathers living still...inspite of dungeons, fire and sword...o how our hearts beat high with joy....whenever we hear the glorious song....faith of our fathers, holy faith...we would be true to thee till death.
Eagerly expecting the testimonies dear brother. May the Lord keep you blameless in Him.
I play the instruments in church. Though used to play the keyboard at home before I got married. Had a number of musical instruments at home when growing up. Don't have any in my matrimonial home yet. Hoping to get soon as the Lord provides

jitmas: Does anybody here know where i can buy a left-handed acoustic guitar in Nigeria? Urgently needed.

Two things you can do.

1 Learn to play right handed

2 Buy a normal guitar and reverse the strings.

If I were you, Id go for the first option. Its not as difficult as you think. Im left handed and I play the regular guitar. BB King is left handed and he plays the regular guitar. There are a number of left handed players who didnt bother going through the stress.

The reason the first option is better is because if you use a left handed guitar, most lessons (and players) use the normal one and then you'd be seeing things upside down. You'd have to look for special books/lessons etc specifically for left hand guitar. Might be a pain in the old kazoo.

Im flattered but teaching requires personal contact. The best I can probably do is give tips and directions. You will have to do most of the work on your own.

About playing scales and speed, well that comes with time. You have to practice slowly making sure your notes are clean and then gradually increase speed. It helps if you use a metronome start with a low BPM (beats per minute) and gradually increase the tempo. But then again speed is not the most important thing. Developing melodic intuition is the ultimate. You dont want to be playing scales at blistering speed like a machine.

Well first thing first, own your guitar. I'll assume you do.

Next, there was a thread on guitar, I laid out what I felt was a basic course for guitar beginners. The nairaland crash wiped the thread all out. Its too bad because I used that post as a sort of library for my students.

You would have benefited from that thread because there were a lot of enthusiasts contributing.

That being said, you must brush up on basic music theory. Chord scale relationships and spelling. Circle/Cycle of fifths and what not. In my spare time I will try to post some lessons here as I did on the other thread. Lets hope NL doesnt crash again.
