The presidential pardon has now removed the illegality in the bringing of the money to UK (laundering) and by legal fiction, the money Alams brought to UK by reason of the pardon has become legitimate and cannot be subject to any criminal trial again anywhere. A case in example in Okah's trial and conviction in SA. If in the course of the trial, let's assume he was pardoned by the president of Nigeria, would the trial go on? No! Why? because the offence he committed was against Nigeria and if Nigeria represented by her president says there is no offence against her, what would the court be trying Okah for again.
