slimyem: still nothing on why he is ANTONIO FERNANDEZ and not ANTONIO OGUNJIMI or something..tongue
I found this intersting however..cool

Many Lagos brazilian returnees have portuguese names (perreira, ferreira, da-silva, da-rocha, etc.). Adeyemo Alakija was once known as Placido Asumpcao.

The first I heard of Deinde Fernandez was in the 1980s when i found out that he owns Tower Fernandez on Berkley Street (close to Tafawa Balewa Square).

No need envying him...if you want to be rich, work hard or join the Ogboni. To be super-rich, be both.

What do you expect of a Supreme Leader of the Ogboni?

Fernandez enjoy your money.

These returnee slaves arrived Lagos some 200 years ago i.e. 1800 AD yet Igbos some of whom have been in Lagos for maybe for 100 years i.e. 1900 AD cannot organise themselves to contest and win LG elections to start making their political mark in Lagos!
Interesting!!!

IdeaIsNeed: Doesn't sound like an honourable man.....yes he is rich but multiple wives (and families?) no philanthropy, no humility, no patriotism ( no industry set up in Nigeria?)... Never liked the sound of him and now i am even more convinced

It also doesn't help matters that he's bosom buddies with the kleptocratic blood-thirsty dictator, Mobutu.

Yes, he was once revered as Nigeria's richest man, but today, there is no evidence that he is still that rich, the reason he remains in oblivion is because he wants people to believe he still lives as past glories pictured. I can give it to him for playing with people's minds using the elemental laws of power. But I doubt very much, if the liquidity of your hero, Fernandez, is worth more than whats found in the vaults of a common state Governor in today's Nigeria.

I wonder why he needs six private jets when he travels exclusively by 'African Teleport' to attend his regular nocturnal meetings in Nigeria and elsewhere.

I would never have thought an "Antonio Fernandez" could be a Nigerian until now...

Can't you see his middle name is "Oladeinde?"

And how do yo know he really doesn't want so much to do with the country?? Are you a psychic or a mind reader

I still don't why you lot attach so much importance to name... You need to worry more about his outlook to life than his name, to be honest... There are millions of people with Africa names, yet they're everything but African...

This man made his money in Africa, dresses African, probably lives in Africa, was a UN ambassador for an African country, loves the culture and tradition etc. what else do you want him to do Get a tattoo of NIGERIA on his face?? GTFOHWTBG!! undecided undecided

Iyaniwura!!!!!!!!!! Where have u been? I missed you and your very enlightening write ups. This is good, tho many things questions, like what about his family,if he is so influential outside, how come nothing is felt of him here? Are u sure he is fully and truly Nigerian?
