This is not a good advice.
I travelled more than 20 times to other states to attend interviews with the so called "small small companies" for the so called "trial and error".
I finally landed a job with a so called "small small company" and was paid over 200k per month. Way higher that what federal government is paying.
I have been waiting for a Fed govt job since 2015 in a federal pyrotechnic where my uncle(dad's immediate younger brother) is currently the dean of engineering. Perhaps from your advice, I should keep waiting until the govt job comes.
In my opinion, i think we should encourage him or her to keep trying. Provided they have confirmed that the interview is authentic. Encourage him to work more on developing himself so as the stand better chances of doing well in his next interview.
Nothing good comes easy, you have to pay the price, You have to leave your comfort zone, you have to make lots of sacrifice. The sun would surely shine. It's only a matter of when and your determination.

Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist

Location: Abuja

Core Job Functions
Dispense prescriptions: This is the "filling, licking and sticking" most people imagine when they conjure a mental image of a pharmacist counting out tablets, preparing a bottle label and handling medications to patients.
Communicate with prescribers: Any time a prescription order is unclear or potentially harmful for a patient, you need to confirm the dosage and formulation (e.g., liquid or tablet), as well as whether brand name product is required or if you can substitute a generic equivalent.
Ensure patients' safety: Check each patients’ medication record every time he or she gets a new or refill prescription filled. This is the best way for a pharmacist to prevent potentially dangerous interactions between drugs.
Counsel patients: This involves more than informing about adverse reactions and interactions with other medications, food, alcohol and other beverages like grapefruit juice. Counseling includes training patients how and when to take doses, following up with patients to see if medications are working, sharing tips on how to minimize side effects while maximizing benefits and listening to all of a patient's concerns.
Work with patients on general health: Maintaining health requires more than taking prescription medications, Pharmacists can help patients heal and avoid getting sick by sharing advice on using nonprescription remedies, taking health supplements such as vitamins, using herbal and natural health products, exercising and maintaining a good diet.
Manage staff: Pharmacists have the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the “three Rs” of right drug, right patient and right dose. Meeting this responsibility requires overseeing the work of and mentoring pharmacy technicians, student interns and residents.
Perform administrative tasks: Everyone in a pharmacy has some responsibilities for keeping patient files up to date, making sure needed products are stocked and required reports get generated and filed., you will spend as much or more time on administrative duties as on patient care.
Educate health provider colleagues: Doctors, nurses and other health care providers about new medications and drug therapy protocols.

Required Qualification and Experience
A minimum of a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.)
Must have completed NYSC
Minimum of 3 years experience

Excellent relationship management and business development skills
Proactive problem-solving approach.
Stress tolerance.

Required Qualities:
Analytical skills: Pharmacists must provide safe medications efficiently. To do this, they must be able to evaluate a patient’s needs, evaluate the prescriber’s orders, and have extensive knowledge about the effects and appropriate circumstances for giving out a specific medication.
Communication skills: Pharmacists frequently offer advice to patients. They might need to explain how to take a medicine, for example, and what its side effects are. They also need to offer clear direction to pharmacy technicians and interns.

You might be very smart and qualified for the job but unfortunately the recruiter can't see that as he or she is yet to meet with you one on one. I have been to at least 3 HR managers to review my CV and cover letters. In addition to this, I have been to numerous mock interviews with these experts. 2:2 in Accounting, MSc, ACCA part qualified. I got my degree in 2011 and no job yet. "Edit resume" is played out. The only thing that can get you a job in this Nigeria is an exceptional result (2:1, 1st class) + connections. If you rely on only one, you will be frustrated. I went on ngcareers to apply for a position and I saw that 1400 people had already applied for just one slot. And deadline is still 2 weeks away. There will be first class graduates in this group, those that are 5 years younger than me and those with "5 years" experience. Telling someone to edit their CV sounds like an insult most times. I see these applications as phantom applications. Its like sleeping with a ghost- you can never get it pregnant. Even this nairaland gann, someone will just come and say they got a job on nairaland. Then they will now just disappear. No details. Qualifications, interview reviews, nothing. HR "bloggers" will always come up with different lists like "10 things you are doing wrong in your interview", "how seduce the HR manager with your CV", "how to write a cover letter that will get you to heaven".

True talk.

Please can I get your CV and cover letter sample

I feel you. Well it worked perfectly for me, has worked for a lot of people around me.
Also 90% of the interviews I attended was from this forum, credit to everyone who constantly update the forum. For exceptional result. In my opinion, Nigeria is shifting from the exceptional result thing to the "what can do for us", "how can you add value to our organization" thing. No doubt connection is also important. Which is why I advice people to be open and talk to everyone about their search for a job.
Lastly, it's important to have a positive mindset. Stay positive (Law of attraction) and trust God to take care of the rest.
Be patient, nothing good comes easy.

It's only a matter of when and your determination.

ok. u made a good point. but i was talking in respect to his limited resources. he cant be forced to be travelling up and down when there is no means. i have seen three of his coment about traveling to abuja fr interview, many have run into debt doing this. (i never see money finish run round abuja, i will now be running to and fro another state). personnaly i run a part-time master progam. i have spent almost half of my school fees given to me, to look for a job. if i tell u that i know how to replace it when the time comes, i lie. what am just saying is that, wisdom should be applied in everything.
