The Government of the State of Osun in collaboration with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is constructing an 80kw Turbine-Driven small Hydro Power Plant at Ikeji-Ile to boost power generation and increase the economic and social development of the area.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Transport, Engr. Oladepo Amudah, dropped the hint today at the on-going Quarterly Ministerial Press Conference, organized by the Ministry of Information and Strategy in Osogbo.

Engr. Amudah also revealed that the Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has approved the procurement of a new Super Heavy Duty Truck (Pole Cart) for the repair and maintenance of various street light schemes within the major cities in the state.

The Special Adviser added that his Ministry through Osun Traffic Marshals, will continue to collaborate with other law enforcement agencies in ensuring safety and free flow of traffic in the state.

This is in a country where individuals are generating 184 MWs of electricity for a City Aba and upgrading to 500 MW in the next 2 years and some mediocre Village warriors are here trumping up ordinary 80 kw
