Hope it is sustainable in the long term. I think this has been on the pipeline for quite awhile. Also hope this will reduce the stench that oozes from that Olusosun dumpsite this rainy season... Billingsway Oregun always feel the killing stench effect. |

nwabobo: Bunch of clowns; It must first start from the paper. Now that theyv told us. we will just keep them on their toes till they av it don. that d essence of democracy, accountability and transparency. Moreover gov. is a continuum. it high time we get that into our head. Even if he can not finish it, those after, whatever party shud . and if they fail the peopl have to call them to oda many projects span years some even decades. it takes vision to start them and determination to finish them. while they ppl serve as monitors. |

GeneralJ: Lagos To generate 50MW from waste Good step to take in reducing our waste problems in Lagos. Just hope that other states will borrow a quick leaf from this and start helping our power problems. It really tickles my fancy when people think up solutions instead of adding problems to the already existing pile. |

Hello, 1. Eko Atlantic City is not on paper o! Work is going steady on it. My office oversees the Ocean and I'm on the 13th floor. I see Eko Atlantic City every minute of the working day. 2. Lagos Light rail on paper?no wonder they say reading is the problem of blackman..your case is aggravated ignorance + reading 3. IPP? - Tinubu is on record to be the first governor to deliver IPP in Nigeria, with Enron, a partnership with Yinka Folawiyo Electric power company, Enron before the Enron-gate. This company is still near Egbin delivering power to the national grid since 2000/2001. 4. Lekki International Airport - Cool down, that one needs no rush. Logic tell us that Airports, Seaports, rail lines should be located pretty close to free trade Zone. Meanwhile let me clea my doubt; exposure scale 1-10, what's your level? nwabobo: Bunch of clowns; 3 Likes |

@tomkint, 1. It's a pity you've simply give yourself away as another ignorant stereotype. 2. The Lagos State Waste Management has demonstrated it's capacity to turn waste to weatlh with veritable results. This electricity generation on this magnitude is just going to be an icing on the cake. 3. This same parastatal in thier recylcing plant in Ikorodu few years ago successfully turned waste into fertilizers of commercial quantity. Dangote bought them all. 4. The Lagos State recycling plant has consistently and continually partnered in some private sectors on turning waste into useful items like shoe soles, CD casings etc. It's still a learning process but huge work has been done. My business plan/project from business school was on waste-2-wealth and my team did extensive research work in Lagos and Barcelona. Even though Lagos strides is still a far cry from Barcelona, Lagos has acqually taken some steps in the right direction. No wonder Aregbesola sent the Osun team to Lagos for training. tomakint: |

I lived on Number 1 Ikosi Road for about 6years, trust me the stench was something else. I remember when NAFDAC came to burn some fake/Expired drugs siezed from Idumota, OMG...Image inhaling various drugs while breathing, COdine, Cough syrup, lots of them...... The biogas coming out of that place is ahuge resource and Lagos State is not doing anything extraordinating by turning it into value. It's what any sane government will do. Did Lateef Jakande not build recycling plants while he was governor of Lagos state over 30 years ago I remember at least one such plant betwen RT Briscoe and Oshodi, close to the army barracks/school. That was before Ayatollah Buhari's coup and he was jailed with other UPN governors who were delivering to the masses while his fulani brother, president Shagari was allowed in house arrest. An action UPN governor with less REAL budget per capita (annual budget divided by population and adjusted for inflation) did MUCH MORE than these latter day progressive PRETENDERS who depend on propaganda to continue hood winking their mugucious followers. 2 Likes |

Sincere 9gerian: Lagos to....this, Lagos to...that. And this is being celebrated?. What is the population of Ebonyi state compare to Lagos. If lagos state govt offer you N2,000 to relocate to ur village, u will say no, Lagos is sweet. Ebonyi can generate more than N3billion monthly revenue if you leave Lagoss and develop your state. Omoku and Ndonne in River state generate more than 15MW from turbine engines. What we have is what we use. Eko oni baje. |

Delafruita:Locomotive/not? Lagos runs a budget of N499.105B which is about 10% of the total budget operated by the Federal Government and I think what is on ground is not commiserate with the massive fund. What is Lagos Government really doing for me? I pay my tax yet gutters cannot be maintained by the LCDAs, Many of the roads are patched every other week causing so much headache after every drive, I pay for my Waste Disposal, I pay heavily to send my kids to School (LASU today is not for the common man), Harassed by LASTMA for no cause so that they can meet their revenue target (imagine a revenue target for Police), Every ministry official expect a tip before any assistance, hardly will you get a vital info without paying for it (corruption everywhere), Multiple taxation everywhere and one cannot but pause to ask; how is this one better than the Federal Government? 1 Like |

....and in your uninformed and crude rationing, no one ever told you that that same recycling plant that was run aground and made commatose by the military government and focusless civilian government in Lagos was revived by Tinubu and Fashola has upgraded it into one of the major trasfer loading stations? So of you guys are simply pathetic with the way you spew and spread half-truths and false information on NL. Some rabid lappers will who've never been to Lagos will pick this up as truth...... anonimi: Did Lateef Jakande not build recycling plants while he was governor of Lagos state over 30 years ago |
