did you smooth the plane.?also check you material setting and lighting too. and for realistic look cycles render will all give you that. save your image in PNG format.

I Have it already but it crashes most of the time especially when i'm doing strand rendering.

The reason is that i downloaded the one of 64bits. My 2.69 is 32bits it doesn't give me any problems that's why i'm using it.

Waiting for the stable release for 2.73.

it has to do with practice/read/learn/practice. also you should know how to model a character-rig a character - animate a character. handy with blender animation tools ( graph editor,NLA editor, D o p e sheet and timeline...always use Google when in trouble. As for me am still practicing and learning.
