Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State faces imminent suspension as his clash with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, worsens with the state chapter of the party alleging a plot to suspend him.

Nyako’s imminent suspension is said to be hinged on what the Tukur-led PDP National Working Committee (NWC) alleged as the governor’s role against the party’s directive during the controversial re-election of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State as the chairman of Nigeria Governor Forum. The PDP had directed that the PDP governors should vote for Governor Jonah Jang as the party’s consensus candidate, who was said to have garnered only 16 votes against Amaechi’s 19 in the May 24, 2013 NGF polls.
