solomon111: The algerians does not have enough s-600s neither do they have the capabilities or even the funds to successfully carry out and sustain offensives against Nigeria.
It would be a suicide mission, with a devastating counter-attack from Nigeria.
Ethiopians have a good war history, but that's all there's to it.
They also don't have enough SU-27,which is their only advantage, to carry out an offensive against Nigeria.
Any attempt on their path will lead to them be shot out of the sky by the indian Akash missile defence system or even the Roland.
Btw, Nigeria has the newly acquired indian akash missile defence system.
Peace-keeping is war!
Very few militaries can successfully carryout peace-keeping missions.
And lastly, the US military are renowned for their brutality and rape of many arab women.
That dosen't make them unproffessional.

They just need 10 strategic ones to destroy your capital city. God help you defending yourselves against those lethal missiles.

You don't know Algeria is richer than Nigeria, no?? Bwahahahaha. Algeria has more than enough money to go to war with Nigeria.

Indian Akash missile? - bwahahahahahahaha. as for the Roland air defense system, I doubt it can shoot down your obsolete Alpha Jets. Targeting SU-27 would look like Gaddafi's air defense system targeting the Eurofighter. Just hot air, shooting in the sky for no reason. grin

Anyway, I'm just saying it as it is. I don't hate Nigeria. I just think you want to claim the giant of Africa title, then you need to upgrade your military and your country. Your military is your voice and it determines how powerful you're.

ShyM-X:

Yeah, the same Nigerian army that were disgraced by camel riding supporter of APC militias in Sudan. The same Nigerian army that needed the help of both the UK and Indian special forces in Sierra Leone against a rag tag rebel after taking massive loses. The same Nigerian army that couldn't defeat MEND and can't defeat Boko Haram.

I guess Nigerian army is also the French army that ousted Gbagbo in Ivory Coast, no? You need to stop telling porkies.

smh.
I wonder where you get all these crappy stories from.

Nigeria defeated by supporter of APC?
Where,when, how?
The indian akash missile defence system is the best missile defence india has.
Don't underate it.
Nigeria has already paid for a lot of yet to be delivered military hardwares.
By 2014-2015 when many of these stuff will be delivered,Nigeria will completely surpass its nearest rivals leaving Egypt as its sole competitor.
Btw,Do you know that Nigeria has the best ship-building industry in Africa?
With the transfer of stealth tech from china next year,we should start developing our own stealth ships.

Don't act like you don't know the Janjanweed militias destroyed the Nigerian army base in Darfur and killed tons of Nigerian soldiers during the war in Darfur. Heck, even Gen. Martin Luther Agwai alluded to this during his interview with Christiane Amanpour on CNN and he blamed logistics for the attack.

India doesn't even trust its own akash air defense system. It uses the prithvi integrated with the Israeli spyder air defense system. I believe India also has the Russian pantsir s1 and buk Mi-2(not too sure about this).

Others are also buying up. Algeria's about to purchase $2 billion(or more) of new toys.

@ ShyM-X......Please stop bashing Nigeria, where are you from?.......i can guess GHANA! like someone said, your threat level determines how you you acquire and stock weapons or military hardware....., on the other hand, your country Ghana or Gayna cannot last a day under a full blown war with Nigeria

Let me even assume that supporter of APC defeated a Nigerian peace-keeping force.
Well,shitt happens.
America has also suffered devastating defeats by talibans.
As for the rest of your post,i can assure you though, that with the incoming military hardwares to Nigeria, algeria will not be a match.

These Political Department of Plunderers (PDP) will not allow that to happen when they have not satisfied their selfish interest- Looting to be precise!!

gidiMonsta: @Shymmex You sir are a disgrace! What the hell are you talking about?
Is it the South Africa whose special forces were routed by rag tag rebels in CAR? The same SA who was thoroughly embarrased in DRC and so have decided to watch with its tail between his legs while a country in its SADC burns? The same Ethiopia that nearly lost an entire region of its country to El-shabab? The same Algeria where Belmoktar and other AQIM members have reigned supreme?

Nigerian military hardware may not be all that, but we remain the ONLY African nation to have successfully ended wars in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast et al. Ever wondered why the only places in Africa where there are still flashpoints are places that have not tasted the military might of our Khaki boiz. Bravo!!! Thats laudable, proudly green...
. But there are still enormous domestic violence. No pun intended, if we could achieve all those aformentioned, isnt a joke that we are still overwhelmed by menace of terrorism within our horizon

If we really tell ourselves the truth we would remember that in advanced countries, these are NOT made by solely government owned outfits.
These are PRIVATE SECTOR driven.
That Nigeria is not meeting her potential yet is because private businesses in Nigeria are LAZY and want short cuts and quick money, all of which never produce innovation.
Look at Innoson for example; I bet you he is more successful already than PAN Nigeria. He will go places soon.

The sooner we have local PRIVATE companies going into arms production, the better for Nigeria.

Nigeria has made tremendous progress in the past 10years.
The defence industry company of Nigeria(DICON) has started the local manufacture of Ak-47s,FN-FALs,RPMGs,APCs,bullet proof vests, rocket pods, components of attack helicopters and Fighter planes, warboats, assault boats e.t.c.
They've also partnered with the israeli defence company MAROM-DOLPHIN.
Private Nigerian defence companies like proforce and mekhoza who specilize in the manufacture of APCs and MRAPs are springing up.

Israel Sold Non-Functional Drones To Nigeria For $240m

Nigerian defence and security equipment contractor, Alh. Rabiu Hassan, yesterday, alleged that some Israeli security contractors (names withheld) were fleecing the nation of huge sums of money in hard currencies by supplying either non-functional equipments or collecting mobilisation fees without making supplies.

The contractor told journalists in Abuja that at a time the nation was facing dire security challenges, three Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, UAVs, popularly known as drones, supplied by the Israelis were rotting away in a hangar in Benin because they were non-functional.

Good. Very good!
Two things are going for Nigeria in this local innovation idea -YOUTH and MONEY.
We have some smart kids in that country, and we have disposable money that should go into these, if you doubt me, ask Egypt!
These don't cost more than our politicians are wasting on their girlfriends.

They should also seriously go into "anti" systems, basically anti-anything. That is the future.
A day would come when the world would need to rid itself of all offensive weapons. Such a company would make a killing then,
