Degrees With Lowest Employment Prospects In Nigeria by mrinfo(m): 11:27am On Jul 18, 2013 |
Certainly there is no degree that guarantees one a job in and by itself however given the current economic situation and the fast pace of economic and technological shifts in the continent and Nigeria in particular there are degrees you would be better off not investing your time and resources to acquire as opportunities afforded in those areas are increasingly getting eroded. If however you have a degree in any of them and finding it tough to make career headway it’s time to put on your thinking cap. http://blog.ngcareers.com/1397/5-worst-degrees-with-lowest-potential-for-employment-in-nigeria/ 4 Likes |

The point black here is that the world has no empirical formulae study whatever u can and the lord will provide 24 Likes |

There are a lot of graduates who studied the above courses you mentioned who are getting better jobs and are more successful than those that read Engineering,Law etc.So most times it is really not about your course of study. 1 Like |

All that does not matter what matters is that you know someone in power or close to the seat of power. U get the job even ahead of those qualified. |

Some engineers don't even have job . Abegi , no be naija again ? U gat ready to walk and walk before getting a job . Graduate plenty pass available jobs . My lecturer back then said if anyone thinks getting a degree will fetch him or her good money , then he is a joker! I can never allow my child go study computer science , because someone who went to computer sch will be better off . When I was a student ,the old desktop made available for student is not even enough to go round a class of fiften , let alone a class of 200 . Nigerian university na wash ! My friend travelled abroad to school , he curse everyday that had he known , he wouldn't have wasted four good years in Nigerian all in the name of paper degree which when he got to Canada , he discovered that he was been taught nonsense all the while . Old syllabus. The best is , get education for the worth of it , not for the sake of making money . 14 Likes |

No wonder Nigeria currently is such a mess Even though some degrees might need to be reviewed by adding to/removing from, no body of knowledge is in itself useless nor without merit It depends on personal self development ,self discovery and other inputs not primarily education Soyinka read Literature, Greek and Western history;Achebe Chinua of blessed memory switched to English, theology and history from medicine, the indefatigable iconoclast called Fela rebelled from his father's preference of medicine to study music and we can all see the result However too many of young people play it safe looking for meal tickets Not discovering self nor improving their being No wonder Nigeria is currently such a mess 10 Likes |
