The Glorious Mysteries

FIRST READING ISAIAH 7:10-14
Summary- behold a virgin shall conceive

RESPONSORIAL PSALM 24
Let him enter;he is the king of glory

SECOND READING ROMANS 1;1-7
Summary- Jesus Christ, descended from David,is the Son of God

ALLELUIA a virgin shall conceive and bear a son ;and his name shall be called Emmanuel: God is with us ALLELUIA- MATTHEW 1:18-24

GOSPEL READING MATTHEW 1:18-24
Jesus was born of Mary who was betrothed to Joseph, the son of David.

MEDITATION OF THE DAY
SHE WAS FOUND WITH CHILD THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT MATTHEW 1:18

For the first two months of a woman's pregnancy, the new life forms in secret. But that all changes as she begins to show. The interior growth, once hidden, makes a gentle but clear announcement "I'm pregnant". Maybe ht was around this time that Mary was found to be pregnant. Her child, conceived before she began living with Joseph, was now announcing himself to the world. There could be no mistake;Mary was pregnant.Having been put in similar situation, many women may have tried to conceal their pregnancy. But all the signs from scripture portrays Mary as forthright about being pregnant. She let it show.

There's a message for all of us here, because in a sense,we're all 'EXPECTING". According to St.Paul,a new life is forming within us: Christ in you,the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). And this inner growth can not remain hidden for too long.At some point,it must show!

Dont be afraid to let the world see the changes that has taken place within you.You have experienced Jesus's peace, his love, his mercy, and his joy.So follow Mary's example, and let it show! Let your attitude of joy and peace show to those around you at work so that they will begin to believe that they, too, can be changed.

Share the kindness and generosity you've received from the Lord with your family members, friends and people around you and they'll see the love of Christ within you. Be forthright about the reason for your joy. Don't try to hide it,it can be an encouragement to others and inspire them to believe that they too can experience the peace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sure, there will be times when you feel self-conscious or even when you're misunderstood. But you can be confident knowing that God is with you "EMMANUEL". His glory will show through you, and he will never leave you.

PRAYER- Thank you,Jesus, for the miracle of a new life that you have begun in me.May your presence flow into every part of my life so that other people will hope in you as they encounter me"...........AMEN smiley smiley

Remember,Christianity is not in the many words you speak, nor in the wisdom you possess,it is in the simple daily life you live.
How do you see your fellow neighbor?
Do you REALLY show love to those you don't know?
Do you show kindness and care to those who can not pay you back?
Does you life reflect that of our LORD JESUS CHRIST?
If not, then you need the new life of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Mary did not hide her joy and blessing,so share the peace and love of God today.

Do have a blessed week and don't forget......Jesus is the SOLE reason for the season

THE LAST SUNDAY FOR THE YEAR 2013...........PRAISE THE LORD

The holy family of Jesus,Mary and Joseph, feast
Opening prayer-O God,who were pleased to give us the shinning example of the Holy family, graciously grant that we may imitate them in practicing the virtues of family life and in the bonds of charity.

FIRST READING BOOK OF SIRACH 3:2-14
Summary- He who fears the Lord honors his parents.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM 128
Blessed are all who fear the Lord, and walk in his ways

SECOND READING COLOSSIANS 3:12-21
Summary-concerning the christian life in the family

ALLELUIA! LET THE PEACE OF CHRIST RULE IN YOUR HEARTS;LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY COL 3:15a.16a

GOSPEL READING MATTHEW 2:13-23
Summary-take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt.

MEDITATION OF THE DAY
Put on them as God's chosen ones..........love colossians 3:12,14.
You are about to head out the door for a family photo session when you take a quick look around and groan.Your toddler's face is dirty, and her hair is tangled.Your teen-age son is wearing a ragged T-shirt.Another child is engrossed in a video game he cant seem to leave. The clothes you are wearing clash with what your spouse has on. Of course, you do what you can to fix these problems, but dont forget the most important part of your wardrobe.PUT ON LOVE! Remember,"love covers a multitude of sins" 1 Peter 4:8

You would never walk out the door naked, and you probably wouldn't walk around your home undressed either. But there are many instances when we are not on our best behavior with the people we spend most of our times with. How often we forget to put on the LOVE that makes it possible to live together in a family or a convent!
How easy it is to ignore slips of the tongue or selfish decisions, simply because we are so used to the people around us!

So put on LOVE! Love knows it's not perfect yet,so it makes allowances for other people's mistakes and forgives their wrongs.Love knows its understanding is limited,so it looks upon other people with respect and tries to learn from them.Love knows the world is full of hurtful words and deeds,so it tries to make the home a haven of kindness and gentleness.

Love realizes that growth takes time,so it practices patience.Love gratefully welcomes and treasures every family member, looking for the good in them, however deeply it may be buried. May this be our vision for our families! May we all learn how to put on LOVE day in and day out. Then our homes will begin to feel more and more like the home of JESUS,MARY AND JOSEPH,the Holy family and our models

PRAYER-Jesus,thank you for my family.Help us learn how to respect and love each other ever more...........AMEN
Re: Catholic Daily Devotion And Meditations-the WORD Among Us. by debbie(f): 3:25pm On Dec 29, 2013
Husbands love and respect your wives
Wifes be submissive to your husbands ,as the head of the family
Children honor your parents in the LORD,for this is right!

Oh son, help your father in his old age,and do not grieve him as long as he lives;even if he is lacking in understanding, show forbearance;and do not despise him all the days of his life sirach 3:12-14

You can not be a success when your home is at war,you can not be a true christian when there is no love in your home....remember the home is the first church. What example are you showing?

Young people, respect your parents,no matter how exposed, learned or widely read you are.......the are vanity without family.
Our society is gradually loosing it in the family, because the devil is out to kill, steal and destroy.

We pray the good Lord to guide our hearts back to his word and make us a channel of his LOVE

There are so many things that can block, hinder and frustrate us as we run to win the race of life in 2014. Some of them are:
Sickness, poverty, financial challenges, family problems, academic and business failure, human enemy oppression, demonic opposition. As we apply the word of God in our prayer and lives we believe that by faith and by the power in the name of Jesus Christ every yoke, blockade and hindrances will be broken! YOU ARE MORE THAN CONQUEROR THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!

A PRAYER FOR THE ABANDONED CHILDREN

Lord Jesus, we pray that You would protect every child that is currently wandering the streets of this world alone. Father, please open up opportunities for them to be rescued and put into safe, loving children's homes. Protect them from child predators and help them know the love of Jesus firsthand. In Jesus' name, Amen.

A PRAYER FOR THE THIRSTY

Lord, we often take a clean glass of water for granted. Please send people to Help to bring clean water to more people this year. Bring healing and wholeness where sickness has plagued families and even entire communities due to dirty water. In Jesus' name, Amen.

A PRAYER FOR THE HUNGRY

God, our hearts break because we know people will go to bed hungry tonight. Father, we know we can't feed every single one, but help us to feed as many as we can. Thank you for saving lives through generous and kind-hearted people. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Finally brethren,
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 NIV....good night
