Gotta take precautions against doxxing

You presume I've not done that? Some of my posts here are a result of off-thread interactions with posters here. grin grin grin

Of course my posts are now circumscribed, seeing DI tracked and reprimanded me. I made the mistake of logging on here on my personal laptop on the work network.
The good thing is that the general SANDF social media policy is now under review.

AndrewZa, how do you guys get anything done in this beautiful city? Wind-surfing at Blouberg this morning, defended my Master's thesis at Stellies this afternoon, going to a Michelin star restaurant for supper this evening.
As a 17-year old when I came to UCT for my undergraduate studies 2 decades ago, this was a sleepy collection of villages grin grin grin.

Now I could be in Barcelona, San Francisco or the better non-3rd World Mediterranean sections of Croatia!!!

Hrmnn, driving to AFB Overberg on Friday and will stop over at Somerset West for the pics I promised.

Now you know why all jobs in cape Town take twice as long to do as in joburg

The Russian military is designed to successfully fight 2000 miles away from its borders. That is why countries that fall under this radius are always afraid of a Russian invasion.

Really? Maybe with a limited force but Russians logistical support is not like America or even Europe

Really so no longer getting reprimanded for posting face book pics of the ship leaving Harbour even though SAAG forum has pics of those ships leaving posted before the face book update.

I thought that was really ridiculous. Doug over at the http://www.saairforce.co.za/forum/ got a notification about OPSEC when it came to taking pics of the sub leaving on a classified 40-day deployment.
Weeks later, the Navy News magazine asks him for permission to use his pics of the sub departing shocked shocked shocked!

Can fellow Saffers please explain to me why Joburg Metro Police has a SWAT unit? Smells suspiciously of someone wanting to operate operationally grin grin grin. Surely any incident requiring such a unit would be kicked up to SAPS undecided undecided undecided?
Didn't even know they existed until I heard they were also interested in the Black Hornet Nano UAV.
Investigated and they're actually currently testing the SIG SG 516 Patrol shocked shocked shocked!

It's a city police department whose mandate is to enforce city by-laws, FFS!!!

The whole thing was set up when the ANC ran Jozi. Maybe the DA will shut it down?
Imagine a hostage situation at a jacked City-owned hi-rise in Hillbrow: STF shows up (as they should), and Jozi Metro SWAT is already on site...

Who's in charge?

STF, they're more experienced of course. Even some security companies have SWAT units, this is crazy.

To be fare intelgince and public relations are two separate departments. Though both use the same photographers one want pics to never see the light of day the other want to show all of them.

So Jozi and Cape Town have metro police elite units?
Why? I play my music a bit too loud and a SWAT unit shows up?
Sounds too much like bureaucratic empire-building to me.
Everybody wants to operate operationally grin grin grin.
Then you end up with this nonsense tongue tongue tongue

I don't see a issue with that. In a urban area a 9mm carbin makes sense. It less likely to rip through a target and the wall behind him. I mean no real diffrince if she had a uzi or BXP other than at the end of the day they can strip this back to being a pistol.

Crime in those cities is exceptionally high, every bit of specialised units help. Cape Town should be adding more specialised units, the crime in the Cape Flats townships is out of control.

She has 2 pistols. Surely 1 pistol + Roni contraption would be enough. Then use the thigh strap for extra mags.
As it is, her superfluous load-out is unprofessional and conveys the message that our military police don't know what they're doing!

I all was thought the pistol was in the event the primary was lost, damaged, Jamed or when in tight areas. So it not a issue for me.
