As a proffessional environmentalist, let me give this advice to whom it may concern. Fellow nigerians for over a decade the climate of the earth has been changing faster than any other time in human history. This is due to industrialisation and development, as a result, trees are being cut down and new urban centres spring up,automobiles and machines are used everywhere for the modernization of societies therefore fumes or smoke are emitted by these machines and automobile thus they deplete a layer of the earth known as OZONE LAYER. Originally the ozone layer ought not to have been depleted to this rate but because even the trees that use up some of the contents that are make up this fumes or smoke that deplet the ozone layer are being cut down hence the ozone layer whose fuction is to help reduce the intensity/heat of the sun has been so depleted that the heat of the sun is now so much that glaciers or blocked ice in cold regions of the earth are now melting thus increasing the volumes of larger water bodies like the oceans and seas which virtually all other water body in the world empties into. Now back to Nigeria, by reason of the above explanation, all coastal cities in Nigeria would continualy be prone to flooding especialy Lagos that has exclusive apartments and estates on the shores of atlantic ocean. Residents and would be tenants/property owners in such places should be warned that there's no longlasting remedy for this, except if people that live in cities especialy start planting trees not just flowers, also people should start going for greener technology eg buy or start using electric vehicles, and finaly awareness of a greener environmet to save the earth and thus heal the ozone layer. Nigerians should note that when it comes natural disasters like flooding, that not even the developed countries can manage it rather they can reduce its effects.
