Currently I'm on custom ROM Cyanogenmod 10 JB 4.2.2.
Previously on Slimbean JB 4.2.2

BADNEAT: how do I root mine?

Go to xda developers.com or any other android development site and check through the ROMs
listed for GNII. There is no big deal in understanding the instructions for flashing a ROM!
Just apply yourself to it and once you get the instructions right and you successfully
flashed your first custom ROM, THEN ALL FEARS OF BRICKING YOUR PHONE WILL DISAPPEAR.

You can only get 4.2.2 versions on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based ROMS.
ALL other ROMS eg Recovery based ROMS (built/cooked from stock ROMS)are ALL 4.1.2
version as Samsung has not officially released any upgrade to the 4.1.2
As a beginner, search for dr ketan on xda; he developped a pc-based tool called ROM TOOLBOX which you can download
and use to root your phone. The instructions are basic enough.

If not for d application of caution who knows what would hv happened. .I found out dt most of d files downloaded through the links I found online were fake..both the cf auto and odin...Please those that have rooted their fones should help out in this rooting crinkum crankum

Before asking for help, are you running international or branded? Take a snapshot of your "about" screen and post it here. I've posted mine as an example.

What you are looking for is model number. Mine is N7105. This is the international 4g lte model. When you confirm this, you then and ONLY THEN look for and flash the one for your SPECIFIC model.

I've rooted my fone..pls where do I download d omega rom from? And is there any other thing I have to install before it?

I also own SGN2 forabout 10 months now. I am enjoying the trend of rooting as analysed by you guys here. However, it's good to also keep in mind that there are important issues to consider b4 you root your device.
You hv to be aware,(for those of us who bought our devices new from any shop in Nigeria and by virtue of that enjoy a 2 yrs waranty) that rooting your device automatically invalidates your 2 yrs Samsung waranty.
Recently my device's PBA(motherboard) failed, and you knw this can only be bought for a near amount for the whole new fone, but I took it to Samsung smartcare office and it was changed and installed for free. They even said "Sorry for the few days you had to stay without your phone"
Be wise. Most of this guys who root easily ddnt buy new or ddnt buy frm Nigeria. They can root witout regrets.
