I think all note 2 owners should check it out to confirm whether or not their phone is in danger of the "sudden death syndrome"

Stanley08: Actually, this is called Sudden Death Syndrome.

And unless you have a ROM (stock or custom), Kernel (stock or custom) and Recovery (stock or custom) with Samsung Update 7 fix, you are not 'safe'.

My advice is update your phone to the newest firmware, or flash the latest custom ROMs/kernels. Cheers!

Rogbese: Well, I did some research of my own and found this

If you click the link you'll find that if you have a bad chip, no matter how much you upgrade firmware or kernel it won't do much good. It's a hardware problem and can only be completely resolved by changing your board.

So, like I said earlier, if you have a late model note 2 you should be fine. Run emmc checker to confirm your chip and give yourself rest of mind

I'm assuming you mean mother board? Yes it can be replaced here. According to yinkade, he paid N18k to have his replaced. This he did at the Samsung service centre tho it was "unofficial"

U needn't get worried over the eMMC check thing though that doesnt mean nt paying attention sha. If ur phone is nt from the uk, chances are u'll survive. My friends note2 died 2day despite having the oxf7 firmware and a sane chip. Shes going 4 a claim 2mao so will update
