When we first came to Nigeria, we had our office in Lagos, and later moved to Abuja where our office is presently located. We took our time to study why Nigeria is still lagging behind in development, and our investigations showed that bad leadership characterized with ethnic bigotry and injustice impaired Nigeria hope of being one of the most developed countries in the world despite her huge human and natural resources.
Our NGO also discovered that where you come from determines the voting pattern in Nigeria, and the result of it all was that morons have been ruling a country with highly sophisticated men and women. In Nigeria, our investigations also revealed that no matter how highly qualified you may be to rule Nigeria, if you are not from those tribes, nobody will give you consideration. The past leaders Nigeria produced were only interested in enriching themselves, a situation that made many Nigerians believe that this present government is not doing enough. The damage caused by these past leaders cannot be repaired within 5 years.
Many politicians play politics of rancour and bitterness, and their desperation to take the mantle of leadership is one of the causes of politicizing every national issues that needs collective effort to resolve. They criticize without offering solutions.
There are many Nigerians of high repute that have distinguished themselves in the world level, and we believe that if given opportunity base on trust and love, they will turn Nigeria around for good. The likes of Emeka Anyaoku, Ngozi Okonjo Iwela, Oby Ezekwesili to mention but a few are world class leaders, but it seems that where one comes from determine his or her qualification in Nigeria.
In our last meeting with the Presidency, we discussed extensively on how to ensure that men and women of goodwill are allowed into governance.
We have been following the recent happenings in the National Dailies where a former minister tried to remind a certain ethnic group on how they defeated them in the war is not only condemnable, but it is both uncivilized and barbaric. The speech was full of bitterness and was directed against a whole race. Every war belongs to God. We never expected someone that has had such position in the government to create resentment and hatred among fellow Nigerians.
The worst was his call for a debate. We believe that Nigerians should be calling for a debate on what will improve their economy or on new discoveries that are yet to get approval. This is where a debate should be called to defend your new discovery and not on irrelevant issue that will only encourage hatred.

Let Nigerians live in peace and we will continue to preach love!

My sentiment too. It is very shameful that in other countries, people call for a debate on important issues, but here in Nigeria they call for a debate on trivial issue and still see nothing wrong with it. Let Fani Kayode cover his face in shame.
