No comment till ASUU CALL OFF STRIKE. Didn't know GEJ is this WICKED, keep decieving himself through Suswam and SGF every week. Anyway NOTHING will make me vote GEJ come 2015, GEJ was able to get 100b for infrastructure so that they can share the contract money but couldn't get 92b for Yeye ASUU allowance (knowing that that is the main issue) so that they will call off strike GEJ IS A WICKED MAN!!! |

begging by security men comes in different forms..for some time now i cant remember the last time i had to que up for a bank transaction.with the help of the cashiers the men in uniform besiege me upon arrival to pay in or make a withdrawal at a token of about #200 or #500 naira while the rest customers wonder how fast i made it.this is a lucrative buz as they may make up to 4k to 5k daily from poeple like me.i hate to queing up for something.i never did even while at school. |

berem: Am not surprised. When they pay their security peanuts especially Halogen Securities who are under a contract with the banks, what do you expect? That should NOT turn them into beggars, it's unprofessional and embarrassing to say the least. |

The ones in zenith do it a lot too. They will say hello to u like 5 times and will leave their bits to escort u outside telling u stories and carrying ur bag or briefcase. U must give them something at the end of the day. 1 Like |

That's one thing I hate. Some Bank security guards earn better than people who bank with them. Why must people stoop so low to just beg for alms anyhow. Last Bullet: They don't respect their dignity irrespective of the hunger wey dey wire their belle! |

Personally, I have never experienced it maybe cos i mostly use GT but I just happened to notice a tall security @ Ogudu GTB gallery, who is everly soo nice and friendly. I observed for about a year without tipping him but his demeanor NEVER changed, cos of this, whether i can afford or not, I always give him like 1k. Thats good service thats brings more reward without tainting his name. 4 Likes |

xynerise: A lot of people will tell me to mind my business, but my business is the unprofessional conducts of these security men to bank customers. Its rather sad that these security companies pay their workers change. Some companies pay these workers as low as 11'k per month. And they even deduct money from their monthly pay on a prorated basis when ever they miss work due to illness and stuff like that. I really cant blame them, although its very wrong and unprofessional of them. But the one that disgusts me most is not at the banks but at the airport.. Those guys are professional beggers. The day one of them opened my bag and saw 200,000 naira, see Gobe. This man didnt allow me leave until I parted with 500 Naira. This is the one that should be stopped and fast because they do it to both foreigners and locals without shame. |

xynerise: A lot of people will tell me to mind my business, but my business is the unprofessional conducts of these security men to bank customers. They don't need to beg before u know that they want it....the facial expression tells it all. They all wanna be tipped. What about Police, even soldier.....na all of them! And is it a big deal if one gives them, so far its not a bribe, but in appreciation of their job. Even the managers sef dey collect tips, so what are we not talking about? It could be a bad conduct, but I don't see it as anything so far its not mandated! |

The fact is that this culture of tipping unnecessarily is not good for Nigeria in general. This notion of tipping here, tipping there, it's almost like you need money on hand everywhere you go, it also feeds into the notion that you need money in Nigeria to get things done. For real, this country needs to address the issue of minimum wage urgently. If minimum wage was at least 60,000 naira, then I believe most of these people won't have to debase themselves. It does have an effect on the customers, I once had to reduce the frequency of my visits to my favorite food spot due to one individual always rushing me as soon as I got there. It got so bad that when I paid for my stuff we had a little tug of war with my item. We both had our hands on it, me wanting to collect my stuff and leave, him on the other hand holding on to it a little while longer, while smiling in the hopes of inducing a tip from me. For change to come, that ridiculous amount for minimum wage would have to be reviewed upward. 4 Likes |

People always used to tell me, "Come to Nigeria. You can live like a king if you have money. You can have a house boy, driver, etc.". I wonder though, at who's expense? You get a driver, and you pay him 30k per month, not minding how he gets to work everyday. Obviously the system in Nigeria has yet to put a premium on labour, else we should be having workers that earn living wages, not begging wages. |

THIS BANK SECURITY MENS' BEHAVIOUR IS FAST CRAWLING INTO THE STEREOTYPES OF THE AVERAGE NIGERIAN GUARD. SKYE BANK OGBA AND DIAMOND BANK ADENIYI JONES HAVE NOTORIOUS SUBJECTS HERE. THEY WILL WISH YOU HAPPPY MONDAY, TUESDAY AND SATURDAY...ALL IN THE NAME OF MAKING YOU GIVE THEM MONEY. AND THE FUNNY THING, N100 IS FROWNED UPON THESE DAYS. |
