that's what i've been trying to tell people. they don't realize that flying is safer and there are more car accidents than plane accidents.

This is a useful piece of article that i suppose should go a long way in helping those who fear to take a flight.

You have 50% chance of surviving a carr accident whereas you only have 0.5 chance of coming out of an air crash alive.

True, but you're more likely to be in an automobile smash, than a plane crash.

Besides, if you're in a plane crash, and you're killed, death is virtually painless, and instant.

   It advantages (of acrophobia) Well, there is obviously no known advantages except perhaps a phobic someone feels safer by denying him/herself the bliss of luxury and travel comfort.
   Disadvantages? A lot beyond measures. First of all, it is cowardice: Yes, it is a coward attitude, a negative characteristic of submitting to fear, uncertainty, illusions, or death intimidation triggered by erroneous mental representation. Therefore, such negative characteristic should be generally frowned upon.
   It gains if crashed? Well, the late Arch Bishop of Church of God Mission Int. Inc. preached a message just four days before his death, it was titled "the benefits of death". Yes, death could be beneficial depending on one's circumstances. And although it's very, very and very unlikely but yet, (i quote Siena)
