Sorry, you don't see any of the planets in the day sky. Except early mornings and late evenings.

I would have posted the relevant picture but this blasted ipad I'm using doesn't let me upload pictures to nairaland. Maybe someone could do that for me.
Okay. . .thanks for the info.

bknight: Unidentified Flying Object, UFO.

undecided
I partially second.the US has recorded the presence of two UFO's over its territories.Only God knows if its true.all the same could be a planet.

It looks scary.

colors of spectrum. Nothing here other than a round shapes rainbow

The rainbow effect can be seen when:
There are water drops in the air; and
The sun is giving light at the back of the observer at a low distance up or angle.
The rainbow displays with the deepest effect in our minds take place when:
Half of the sky is still dark with draining clouds; and
The observer is at a place with clear sky above.
Another common place to see the rainbow effect is near waterfalls. Parts of rainbows can be seen some of the time:
at the edges of clouds lit from the back; or
as upright bands in far away rain that does or does not fall on the earth.
An unnatural rainbow effect can also be made putting drops of water into the air on a sunny day.

The fact that there's a rainbow-like stuff round it means it's a reflection of something. Whether out of space or in the earth is what I don't know.

And I don't think this qualifies as a UFO.

philfearon: There was also a day i was moving out with my Cousin in Okigwe, and then we saw this Moonlike Shape in the Evening sky..I Thought it was a red moon, and everyone else thought same too...But,later that day,i decided to google it,and then found out that it is not a Moon but another Planet altogether...Many other people from all over the world said they saw same too....
So,@OP,it might be another planet altogether, and may nt be the Moon!
Try googling it to See if there is a global report about it...

that what they call a lunar eclipse!
When the earth its shadow on the moon.
The closest planet to earth is Venus, and its just like a star in the night sky only that it doesnt twinkle.

@post
thats the dispersion of light
this is the same phenomenom responsible for the rainbow.
Here,The atmosphere acts as the dispersing prism, but in the case of the rainbow it is droplets of water suspended in air.

i also saw it yesterday, it was very beautiful, couldn't take a snapshot cos i was sacred at first. it was a very big sphere with d sun in d center and a rainbow lining at the edge. Truly ETT.
Re: Something In The Sky [PICS] by Mynd44: 8:58am On Sep 11, 2013
It was formed as a result of rain drops in the sky. Not ET or ETT

Rain drops and clouds are not stationary na. If it was not moving or it was descending then it would have been something

Raindrops are spherical and if you run light through them, they can show the ray in however form

Lol... Its all physics. Reflection of light(from the sun) through water droplets(in the atmosphere). The movement noticed is actually rotation/revolution of the earth(You know how it seems like clouds move during the day).

I must admit, its beautiful. smiley

seems it was a sun halo

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_(optical_phenomenon)

http://earthsky.org/space/what-makes-a-halo-around-the-moon

there's also a moon version which is quite lovely, i think i've seen one before.
