Hezron Lorraine: parents are to blame.Glad my parent's aren't that way.I grew up speaking four languages-English,Norwegian,Yoruba,Portuguese and a bit of spanish. My dad made sure I understand and speak yoruba,same way my mom made sure I understand and speak norwegian.

Hezron Lorraine: I believe relationship between both parents and child matters.Communication is really important.For example in my case,my first contact was english right from when I understood go and come,as I grew up,reaching age three,my parents changed the tempo,when I'm with my mom,she speaks plainly Norwegian,when I'm with dad,he speaks yoruba.My father made sure I learnt yoruba mainly by taking me to my granny for holidays.around age 8,I had already mastered both yoruba and english,then they changed the tempo to both spanish and portuguese,which I speak portuguese better.
The communication aspect is the main deal here.Inter-racial/inter-ethnic marriages as always existed and both partners find a way to adapt their kids to their own spoken languages.
