there are plenty fake memory cards. many memory cards are expanded memory cards. e.g a memory card that has a data space of 4gb being expanded to 32gb. this is done by rewriting the information in the memory card's chip, so that the memory card will think it has up to 32gb space. the problem is, when u copy more than 4gb unto the memory card, the data gets corrupted.

there is a way to fix a fake memory card, and that is reverting back to its original size.

to answer your questions, there are many ways to detect a fake memory card. you could do it by physical inspection(not the best cos if an original 4gb is expanded to 32gb, the card will look original). the best way is by actually writing to the card and trying to read the data that was written. there are apps on android to test for fake memory cards, but many do not do what they claim and the few that do will take at least an hour to test a 32gb memory card. also u can test it on a computer.

to be honest with you, nigerians do not like buying original memory cards because they simply can't afford it. i could help you get original memory card but that will depend on when i will make my next shipment.

i never said they do.. but saying they dont is a fallacy of over generalisation. believe it or not, 90% of cards out there are not genuine. just because a card doesnt disappoint doesnt make it genuine. do you know about 40% of expanded memory cards work just fine? oh yes they do bruv. there is alot that determines a genuine card. unfortunately i dont have the time to start lecturing. you may want to google the amount a genuine 16gb cost and compare it with yours. by the way i got a sandisk 16gb class 10 for 2k, it works perfectly (been using it for a year now) but it aint genuine.

SanDisk is the most "pirated" mem cards in Nigeria. Anyway, What I got is a Samsung Memory card although that doesn't guaranty it would be perfect, buh atleast am sure it would last me a while...
